two days ago I requested a duplicate key for my locker room in my condo . I had lost the original. Sure...No problem said the Office girl and "complimentary'. I wait for the key. I again went to the office the next day...will call you whenit is ready. No call. When I went to the office to-day the key was ready and cost $2.00. I thought it was "complimentary. " NO said the Property Manager and no saif the office girl ..She NEVER SAID IT WAS COMPLIMENTARY. The Office Manager told me that it is impossible to give it to me for free. I said I would pay for it . He said he would let it go this time but it cannot be free.
I was getting mad. The girl said it was complimentary and then changed her comments. This is the second time she has done this to me. On another occassion she lost my cheque and tried to convince me that I had not even given her one. I dilike this behaviour. What can I say or do to prevent this from happening again???

Get everything in writing. Are you really that upset over a $2 fee?

It sounds as if the office girl doesn't know all the policies and made a decision on what she thought was right at the time. She's probably made other mistakes like this and is afraid she'd lose her job if she told her boss the truth.

If you think about it, why would anyone pay $2 to make you a key when you admitted to losing the original?

Maybe you should just chalk it up to your goof this time and be careful around the employee from now on.

Take it easy. The girl probably doesn't make a lot of money and the next one could be worse.

Take a look at the site below and watch the online movie presentation. You should not have to put up with crap like this. With this Protective Legal Service Plan, that will never happen again. Hope this helps you.

If you have to deal with her again, get a receipt for the check, and if something happens where you need something else like a key or copy of something, tell her she needs to clarify the information in writing because of past misunderstandings that way there will be no misunderstanding for either of you because it will be in writing.

Always get these things in writing-----but in this past case go to her boss in private and tell him your story. If confronted by her boss she just might change her ways!
