wow, good question.
i have been always ready for something but in cases of that, i always ask for help. i have a lot of friends and relatives. so it won't really hurt that much. but as much as possible, i do work for my kid and i'll give everything to her.
pursuit of happiness right?

Most can go their local City or Town Welfare Office and it is ethical.
Many however resort to crime, and I guess it depends! If my children were starving to death or freezing to death I am not sure how far I would go. Immoral and unethical is a widely used term for the poor, but not for the rich who make money unethically and at times immorally. There is a Millionaire made in the US for every 5 1/2 US Military deaths in Iraq (500) directly from the money allocated to the war! I didn't know it was suppose to go in their pockets!
Perhaps they can apply to Wall Street, who made so much money, in large part due to the War, that Sachs is giving each of their employees a $623,000 bonus!

there are place you can go to get help. Several churches i have been to would help someone if they really needed it.
I do not know what i would do in that situation, and would have a hard time judging someone else who did something immoral or unethical in that situation. But, yes, if circumstances do not change the truth. if something is unethical or immoral it does not become moral or ethical because of a situation. That is a hard but true statement.
Christians, a situation like this calls us to action. Whatever we do to the least of these our brethren we do to Him.

I would find a local food bank and get some help. Also many churches can provide aid. The salvation army has many different branches to help people in need. Also try your local welfare office. You can find a job and you can make it, your destiny is in your grasp. I don't always eat steak. Can't even remember how much Kraft dinner we ate as a single mother in school. There is always someone out there worse off then you. seek help where ever you can get it, even if it means going to a shelter untill you get on your feet.

I would go to a soup kitchen for a least that meal (and more if need be). Then start clipping coupons and save money by not eating out a lot and give my child more food than I ate myself!

Earn some money, go to a food bank, apply for public assistance (temporarily please, because the taxpayers are footing the bill. Pubic assistance was never intended to be a means of *lifetime* support for people). If you mean to imply that this would be justification for breaking the law, it isn’t, because there’s a lot of help available for people in this situation (in the U.S. anyway).

well, my husband is a hunter, so he would go out and kill us a deer for meat, we would ask for help through family and friends, my kids would eat no doubt,
I know Stealing would be most people first thought, but there are alternatives, there's allot of giving people and usually you just need to swallow your pride and ask....

I would go to salvation army or lifeline and ask for food vouchers. They also have food hampers for the people that are in need.
