This is actually a great question because I feel the same way. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law have been selected at least to go down there four or five times each. My parents have never been called to duty and I've only been called once. I was chosen for the jury but when I showed up for duty, the defendent plead guilty and so I ended up having to go to work that day after all. Darn.
I wanted to serve in order to really see how our American justice system worked. I think it's interesting and once planned to go to law school, but I got married instead.
So, anyway I don't know why some people seem to be called often like my inlaws, who don't even want to be there and why people like us who would like to be a part of the legal process aren't picked. I do know that jury lists come from driver's license lists and that it's a computer that selects names randomly. The court people told us that when I was almost a juror.

I served on a attempted murder trial. I will tell you, I did not enjoy it. A mans life was in my hands, and I was very concerned about doing the right thing. I took in every detail, and fortunately, the whole jury agreed on the same verdict.
I am curious, Why do you want to sit on a jury so bad? I am not accusing you of wrong motives. I don't know what motivates you. I will tell you this, when you are deciding someones fate in life, It should be a heavy burden. The responsibility to come to the right decision is on you. If you are wrong, and err, You will have to live with the guilt.
Anyway, again, I am not accusing you of anything, just curious. You may serve one day, and find you don't like it. Remember that saying (be careful what you pray for, you may get it.)

They don't want people to want to be on juries (i.e. writing the letter) If you get the notice and you call in, it's not that you didn't get picked, it's that there wasn't any need for that many jurors that day. The only time you aren't picked, is when you physically go to court, your jury pool goes into the court room, you get asked a few questions by the attorneys and are "excused" for cause, or they use one of their peremptory challenges to get rid of you. If you are so adamant about being on a jury, apply to be on a grand jury. That is a one year commitment.

Well you are not the idol jury type they really want disinterested people. People who are not modle citizens, not bussiness types because they do not want thinking types on the jury. You have to distance yourself from wanting to serve. If you call in the number act disinterested, act like it is a bother. You wil get picked one day. They wanted me on a capital case last dec. I said sure no problem when we going to hang the guy out. I was not picked. Sure had a good vacation. I was not what they wanted.

You have to be a registered voter or at the very least have a driver license to be in the pool that they select from. And get a life, what the hell you want to do that for? It is a long waste of your day to set in court all day and see if they want to use you.

They have to keep it random due to keeping from Jury tampering. Unfortuantly there is no way to get called. And just because you get called doesn't mean anything because then you have to be approved by the lawyers. so be patient. Your time will come!

Well... they always take one look at me and excuse me. Too male, too conservative looking. Plus, if asked, I am happy to say that I look forward to putting some bums in jail. Their loss. Too bad we can't give repeat offenders the death penalty.
I don't know why they don't want me. ;-)

You are too anxious. The lawyers don't want someone who wants to be there. You must have an ulterior motive.
