I have a question on overtime laws in Texas. I know that some companies pay either time and half or half time, but I heard of this type as well: If you work over 40 hours a week, they take the average of your hourly pay and divided by the hours worked in a week. I heard people call it "chinese pay". I was wondering if its legal and where I can find more information on it? Thank you!

If something happened that was not your fault, that you were totally innocent for, but that there was a mixup of names, on a case that was dismissed, and after the case was over the Detective wanted to ask you more questions and harrassed you over the phone that you needed to do this or else, can you get them for that?

These creeps, no doubt they are paid mercenaries, keep calling, the number never shows, not even a state. I told them not to call, but they keep calling and won't answer questions, just hang up on me.

I attempted to purchase from a musician certains works that they had for sale online. And in the past when I had sent him the money I recieved the music files via email. Now this time I needed the music files faster and so I contacted them via email as I have done in the past and they informed that they accepted Western Union. I was provided with their information including address and name, I made the payment only to be able to be obtained by showing ID and knowing the password which I had provided to the person. I even made the question for the password "What is this for" and the answer corresponded with the reason for payment.

But now I have been in contact with the person and have recieved vague answers as to "when" I would get the music. This is weird because in the past I have bought numerous peices from this person with no problem.

But that leads to by question, is there anything I can do legally?

If you are hurt, and have no other way of proving it, would you be able to obtain a copy of that stores video as a proof of evidence. Will you have to go through the courts, or will you be able to view it on your own without legal litagations.

The tax appraiser for my county has aerial maps attached to their website, where one can view their property as it's seen from the air. I believe they update these photos every few years, likely reviewing them to note if any new structures have been built on properties, thereby assisting them in identifying which properties need to be taxed more.

I have a large yard and I was thinking of planting bushes in a configuration that would spell obscene words that would be viewable from the air, but not the ground. Would this get me in trouble if it made it into the next set of aerial photographs?

My brother is 21 and his girlfriend is 17 they live in IL. As of right now they live together with her mom and brothers. If the two of them move out could her mom charge him with statatory rape or not considering she allows them to live together. They want to move out because her mom makes her do all the cleaning and makes the both of them give her their checks on payday while she sits on does nothing (she doesn't have a job). So my question is can they move out without any legal percussions. (Age of consent in IL is 17)

Read this bill!!

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c109:1:./temp/~c109umsLXd::

Some senators wanted to introduce a bill to require ID at the voting booths, and Barak Obama set a motion to make it illegal ask for ID at the voting booths!!!

There is NO reason for this, except that people who should not vote will be able to vote (illegal immigrants, maybe??). Look at the list of supporters, it is the Democratic news-makers again!

We all know George W is for the illegals, for some reason, but most Republicans are not. If this bill passes, the illegals will vote in record number for Dems, so they can get all the rights they "deserve".

I was considering voting for Obama, but he just lost my vote!

I have a problem, here it goes. from 1997 to 2004 I worked at job that was sent papers requesting child support be deducted out of my paychecks and sent to the appropriate office for distribution etc.. etc.. but my boss never did this and never notified me of these papers. I have paid my dues to child support and never thought about it very much as the case is it gets taken out automatic at my current job. with out me having to bother with any paperwork because that is not my job. and I do not know anyone who has had to chase down someone to pay them child support either. my case has now been sent to court with intent on me being put in prison for a felony in another state for non payment and it's my old job who caused this problem in the first place. what can I do to right this wrong other than me being put in prison for something that I did not directly choose to do, and my employer did.

I saw an item in a sale flyer that we want to buy for our daughter for Christmas. It is a much wanted item with a hard to pass up price. The sale started Sunday and when we went Sunday morning, there were none in stock. We were told to check during the week. I have been calling every day since then and also checking other store locations. Nothing. They will not issue a raincheck. How can a store offer a sale, not make sure the product remains reasonably available and get away with not honoring that price at all?
