Gordon Brown is the biggest thief we have had in no/ 11 for decades.
He wants people to give up smoking? nonsense, the cost of smoking materials are subject to approx. 85% tax.
The figure raised is almost 5 times the cost of treating smoking related diseases
He wants people to get out of their cars and use public transport? again, absolute nonsense.
If the country as a whole gave up smoking and did not use their cars, the economy would collapse overnight.

As for the new "green taxes" well what can you say.
Our national carbon emissions are 3% of global emissions, so it will make no difference whatsoever.

Just another excuse to rob us.

I look forward to the day when all the non smokers have to pay their fair share of the tax burden.

I assume these tax increases will apply to our immigrants friends
as well, or are they to be exempt from these as well.

Have a good XMas.

Not a problem. Smokers will continue to pay higher taxes for their addiction & if they stop smoking there will be fewer medical treatments needed in the long term so it all works out.

Its not the smokers who control taxes its Gordon Brown and he will put up tax's until we are all skint regardless...in fact what he actually wants is for everyone just to give him our weekly pay and let us all starve. We might as well we are already working six months a year to pay our tax's as it is before any of our money is actually our own!.

If smoking continues to decline, the only way to fill the void in tax revenues will be to target all forms of bad pollution (and energy wastage) instead.
