i figure we would not have any more drug addicts or prostitutes than we have already (meaning legalizing it would not make people try these things that they would not have tried eventually anyway)...we can collect taxes off of the sales...places were it is legal like amsterdam, have no more or less crime than we have...it would lessen the stress on our jail system which we use tax money to fund anyway...what are yall opinions

Even if you don't currently live in NYC, it's inevitable that this will become the status quo across the country, so it WILL affect you.
1. Do you feel that this ban of trans-fats inhibits your right to choose how you use your body?
2. Do you think that the benefits of banning this unhealthy substance and the reduction in mortality, obesity and healthcare costs to others outweighs the right of individuals to determine how they wish to treat their bodies?
3. Can you point out any correlations between this and other freedoms that we do or do not have in our society?

I have a South Dakota driver's learner's permit. Can a 14 year old, which is 100% legal and valid in South Dakota use this permit in NJ? How about a S.D. provisional license?

I know that New Jersey does not honor out of state licenses if one is not at the required age, however I believe permits are different.

Any answer would be appreciated.

5000 motorcycle riders come into Houston for a three-day motorcycle rally and convention. Over 300 stay at a local hotel that rents videos. There are activities planned for each night at the hotel. One of the nights the motorcycle movie, Easy Rider, is being shown at the hotel. The person who owns the video forgot to bring a copy, but the hotel desks has a copy of it. Over 300 people show up to see the movie.

In California, a single viewer does not constitute a public performance. However, with 300 viewers, does the analysis change? Does the analysis change, if the movie is shown in a convention hall rather than a more private room?
What would happen if it was a personally owned video that was shown to the convention?
Is there a certain cut off for the number of people that creates a public performance? Is it 20, 50, 00 people?

Jack Reardon recently bought a vintage ‘67 Mustang convertible, and did not have insurance. Upon arriving at the Holiday Hilton, Bob, a bellboy who was temporarily relieving the valet, Bob gave Mr. Reardon a claim check and took off. Printed on the back of the claim check were the following terms and conditions: “Neither the Safeway Parking Garage no the Holiday Hilton is responsible for any loss incurred because of theft.” Mr. Reardon did not look at the claim check. When he went to get his car. The valet told Mr. Reardon that the car was not in the garage. Mr. Reardon informed the valet that he had $60,000 in the trunk.

Whether the Holiday Hilton is responsible for the lost car and belongings?
Whether there is any relationship that Mr Jack Reardon might be able to recover the damages for his lost “STANG” and belongings?

My boyfriend was adopted as a child and is now (at 22 yrs old) wanting to change his last name back to his biological father's name. He can't afford to pay a lawyer so I was wondering if there was a way to change it without a lawyer, how would he go about it, and if possible about how much it might cost?

Hi,
I have had problems with ants in my apartment for the last three months. I have tried to work with them during this time. Basically they send someone out to put poison down once a week if I call them but this has had no effect. I asked them if I could move into a different apartment, but they said 'oh we'll figure it out so you don't have to move'. Is this grounds for terminating my lease and if so, how should I go about it? The state I live in is Texas by the way.
I have a baby on the way, so I would like to get this taken care of quickly.
Thanks

I ordered an item on line, paid with credit card. ARGOS sent wrong item. After 3 attempts they managed to collect the item. I was supposed to be refunded in 5 - 7 days. After 10 e-mails threats of legal action (from myself) still no sign. Ringing them is impossible to get through. Anyone know where I stand legally ? or can recommend any good legal advice on the web ? I'd take them to court tomorrow but I can't afford it !
