I have a South Dakota driver's learner's permit. Can a 14 year old, which is 100% legal and valid in South Dakota use this permit in NJ? How about a S.D. provisional license?

I know that New Jersey does not honor out of state licenses if one is not at the required age, however I believe permits are different.

Any answer would be appreciated.

According to this high school in Illinois,
http://w3.lphs.org/academics/dept/drivered/permits.htm

Quote: (under New Jersey)
A student with a valid learner’s permit from another state may legally drive in New Jersey provided the vehicle he is operating is properly titled, registered and insured in the home state. Further, the permit holder will be subject to the laws of his home state.

No. Regardless of the permit being valid in SD you still have to follow the laws of NJ which do not allow you to drive in their state at the age of 14.

Seriously, if they don't honor licenses for underage drivers from other states why in God's name would they honor a mere permit?
