I ordered an item on line, paid with credit card. ARGOS sent wrong item. After 3 attempts they managed to collect the item. I was supposed to be refunded in 5 - 7 days. After 10 e-mails threats of legal action (from myself) still no sign. Ringing them is impossible to get through. Anyone know where I stand legally ? or can recommend any good legal advice on the web ? I'd take them to court tomorrow but I can't afford it !

If you purchased with a credit card, the credit card company has a duty to either refund your money or sort the matter out to your satisfaction. So, get on to the credit card company now.... before 20:00 and they close... or tomorrow morning first thing.

Simply do something called a chargeback. If you receive a service or something you believe is not good, and you are within your rights for a refund, you can phone up your credit card company and do this with no probs.

Try sending a letter, send it recorded delivery it only costs 80p and threaten small claims court and explain if it does get to that stage you will also be claiming your time and inconvenience....
