does anyone find it unethical that our government lets cigarettes stay legal while arresting people that do drugs. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't the statistics state that cigarettes kill more people every year than drinking and drug use combined? And if you don't like that prospective, what about the issue that the government will fine you or ticket you for not having a helmet on while riding your bike, or for not having your seat belt on while driving in your vehicle. Hell, they will ticket you for letting your tail light go out, but smoking, thats ok.
I don't want any one to think that I want a police state, or any variation of. In fact I wish there were less stupid laws than there are. I just very much dislike hypocrites.
I would love to hear your thoughts

I was listening to the radio when something came on about willie nelson being pulled over in his bus and found to have pot (no surprise) and this woman calls in after they tell the story of what happened and said she is a lawyer and blah blah and THEN went on to say if you're caught with 1/4 ounce or less the police will just crush it up or confiscate it and tell you to go on about your business, no cuffs, no fine, nothing. I live in new york and I find this a bit hard to believe. Anyone know if it's true? Also, if having items used in the consumption of drugs is illegal how can smoke shops sell pipes and bongs? Only bongs I ever saw were used for one thing and one thing only. I'm just wondering because I was discussing that much with a friend and he says one thing and I say another. If anyone can give me answers for either one I'd appreciate it. If both than even better. Thanks.

The terrorism has been condoned and excused as too dangerous to handle. If we do not stop it, it will become unstoppable and than we will pay the price for becoming serious on stopping it. It must be controlled.

Look at how many problems we have involving alchohol. If people can't control themselves when drunk, how would they able to control themselves while influenced by marijuana use, or both? They both cloud judgement and in my opinion, keep it illegal. At least people will use some caution when using it. I would hate to think of a drunk, high person on the road thinking it is ok to do so because they are legal. Control one better before legalizing another one and causing more problems. What do you all think?

this is an open question and please don't tell me because we are a civilized nation..these are animals, not people..and please don't tell me because innocent people have been released from death row. yes, there has been about two who were actually innocent. many were released on tecnicalities, and liberals like to use that statistic in their arguments. do not be mistaken, those people belonged there, but slippery lawyers got them off. some people are such dredge on our society, they are not wired right and can never be normal or an asset to the rest of us. i'm talking about the very violent. and insanity can't be an excuse, still no way to benefit society. an 18 year old given life in prison will cost tax payers over his lifespan the price of a new school! be real, why do we owe these derelicts anything? they have failed and should be exterminated!

My partners place of employment has been hiring all kinds of new people who do not do their jobs. She works in a group home for the MR (mentally retarded). The people they hire are friends of the administrators and such. She can write these people up, but she says it won't do any good and I was wondering who she can call to file a complaint. These new people they are hiring get paid for doing their homework and talking on their cell phones. This a private group home, but i try to tell her to file a complaint, but she won't because she says they are looking for her to quit. My partner does her job and she does the job of these new people, and she has been working for this group home for almost 15 years. Any help will be appreciated and thank you for reading this.

I am trying to find any State law or City Ord. that requires someone to show proof of identification when filling a prescription for a Scheduled or Controlled Substance at a Pharmacy. I have tried findlaw.com and other simular sites but can't find one. I want to find one to model after so I can try to draft one for my city. There is a nation wide problem with people passing false prescriptions because pharmacists aren't required to ask for ID and most that I deal with are too lazy to ask. I would be greatful with any help you can offer.

My dad and I were discussing current events this evening and he pointed out to me that movie actors and others want us to stop genocide in the Sudan but dont support our country on the war against terrorism. I think we should do something about the suffering of innocent people in the Sudan AND fight the war on terror.

A news article I found talks about how New York City is considering a ban on the use of trans fat by restaurants in the city. Shouldn't diet be a personal concern? Isn't it dangerous to allow the government too much control with what we can or can't do to our bodies?

It's funny how when you are young and all you hear about how great this country is until you begin thinking on your own and see how they obviously are more interested in killing other people and their own rather than looking into more "kind" endeavors. I have given up on this country in that regard, but I have heard that Canada has made great strides despite strong criticism from the US. I have about 50 years give or take to live and would like to not have to travel to Amsterdam to enjoy the finer things in life. It was so pleasant to puff on a spliff while watching out a coffee shot window as the children and other members of society peacefully went about their business.
