A news article I found talks about how New York City is considering a ban on the use of trans fat by restaurants in the city. Shouldn't diet be a personal concern? Isn't it dangerous to allow the government too much control with what we can or can't do to our bodies?

Hell no. It they start with our diet what's next.....how much t.v. we can watch, how many times we can have sex, and how many partners we can have. It is absolutely ridiculous. I hope that doesn't happen. I hope people don't let it happen. The government already has too much control over things they shouldn't. Our government is supposed to be run by us..but if we do not take the initiative to have the government work FOR us..then they have to work for us, which means they HAVE to run our lives for us. As far as I'm concerned while trans fat is dangerous...we need to take personal responsibility for our actions. If we choose to ingest things that are potentially harmful, then we have to suffer the physical, mental, and financial consequences. It's our own fault if we give them our autonomy.

What this is about is government keeping a eye on corporations that do not do long term studies on crap they put in foods to increase profits. The government is all "We the People" have to protect us from corporations. Remember corporations are not people and have no feelings. Most of Europe has ban trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. Remember we are the government "We the People" not some boogie man coming to get you, which is one core of Conservative thinking that the government is to powerful when we are the government.

Its too late, the government already practically controls our bodies. They tell us that we can't have the right to chemical happiness (this would be illegal drugs, ie Ectasy or Marijuana). Its really scary that a government is even thinking about something like that. It won't really matter in the long run because a black market will pop up. I guarantee it, just look at illegal drugs or even prohibition era. You can't stop what the people want even if its bad for them.

Government already unlawfully regulates every action that we do on a daily basis. We have lost all true freedom. This is not for our safety. It is for control over us. It gets worse every day, bit by bit. They have become very masterful at conditioning us to accept more and more servitude through their ceaseless propaganda.

If they are talking about such regulation, you can be sure that it is on its way.
