I made the STUPID mistake of buying my ex bf a motorcycle, that was 3 years ago. It was put on a credit card so the title is clear & is in my name.

Hes been making payments this whole time, but he should be paying me more than he is just to get it paid off. The minimum payment is only $39 but the most he has ever given me is $150. He doesnt have anything else to pay for.

ANYWAYS, Im thinking about selling it. Even though its not hurting my credit, it is a large balance & does effect my debt/income ratio.
If I have a signed agreement that states he has been & will continue paying until it is paid off & that the debt is soleley his responsibility could I hold him responsible to pay the difference. What I can sell it for is definitely not going to be enough to pay it off.

Serious answers only please & dont remind me how stupid I was to do that....I ALREADY KNOW :o)

Can I use an e-mail obtained from my wife's account if she gave me the password? We are in a child custody battle and information on her account show she acts in a reckless manner.

Thanks in advance.

NYC is investigating banning high levels of trans-fats from NYC restaurants:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060926/us_nm/newyork_fat_dc_2

I thought the Supreme Court said I had a "constitutional right to privacy!" Hey, sodomy carries health risks too, but it's been deemed unconstitutional to ban it. So why is this different?

I'm being partly sarcastic - you'd be hard pressed to find a "privacy" right to start with. But is government going too far? heck, smoking bans at least have the arguable justification that you are hurting others. Seat belt laws may help you keep control of the car, so you don't hurt others, if you are hit. Drug laws may prevent you from hurting others when you are high. And yes, laws against harmful food may lower everyone's insurance costs.

But when is enough enough? How do you feel about possible encroachment of "the nanny state?"

I've mashed together a lot of thoughts here, but give it a go. thanks.

If a couple was going through martial issue and the wife choosed to get a epo, only because she wanted to make sure her husband never took off with the child and she felt she had no other way to turn (it is his right as the son's father to take him, in the eyes of the law the child is consisdered community property). Her only concern was always keeping her son, there was never any signs of abuse towards the child and he was taken to the doctor weekly, who confirmed that the child was fine and healthy. Should she be held accountable for the infants death, if the child's father does something to the child at there home, which causes his death. while she was not present? If so what what should the charge be?

Our son has a sleeping disorder and is mentally retarded with an IQ below 70.Recently he left the house in the middle of the night and got into 12 cars.He took petty little things of intrest to him, nothing of any great value.Only one person signed a complaint, but he now has 12 felony burgulary charges. We have done an incompentency evaluation and he was diagnosed incompatent to stand trial. So now they want him to be sent to a mental institution so they can make him competent. This law could apply to someone with pyscological problems but there is no cure for mental retardation. Please help us we have only till Oct. 3 to come up with a defense. We live in Kansas.

Also, I am suing my school, will they make an arrangement with me that they get a portion of the settlement for their legal fees if I win, and I don't pay anything if by the off-chance I don't win?

Synopsis of my case:
The incident that occurred stems from a long history of the administrators at my High School unsuccessfully attempting to discipline me for lawful actions and words taken and used by myself regarding my political, and religious beliefs. Several weeks ago it came to my attention, through a trustworthy friend of mine that graduated last year, that a classmate of mine, much like many people here, was living a life that consisted primarily of excessive drinking, drug use, and promiscuity.

I was also told that this person claimed to be a conservative, and often falsely exclaimed to be one. I contacted them on one occasion out of school, after school hours, and on AOL instant messenger to confront them about this, and to try and reach out to them. After failing to do so, I elected to hope for the best for them, and to let the issue go. Soon after, the student took a chat log, and brought it to the school administrators, who took no action on it for 10 days as they unsuccessfully attempted to contact the police to charge me with a crime, of which I committed none.

They also publicly made statements during assemblies regarding a student handbook, without using my name, but the Principal stated something similar to that they were"working with the police about a student cyber-bullying another", and in a different assembly, which someone told me about, one of the Vice Principals stated something along the lines of "not pushing your religious beliefs on others." On Wednesday, September 20, 2006, the girl confronted me during home room in class with multiple witnesses present telling me that she "knew it was me", and to "not message her again", even though I had not made any attempt to contact her since, nor did I converse with her in person after the comment I made online.

On Friday, September 22, 2006, I was called down to the office. I waited for about 25 minutes as the Principal, and two Vice Principals discussed me in the Principals office. They called me into a conference room, and claimed that I had somehow gained this information of her claiming to be a conservative from a classroom exercise, and therefore they had the jurisdiction to issue a two day suspension comprising the next two school days, with readmittance after a parent conference. They also put down the official reason as "sexual harassment", which they claim my online comment to be, despite the fact that there was no sexually harassing language involved. Also, despite the fact that I issued no threats whatsoever, and have no disciplinary record, they claimed that she was made to feel "uncomfortable and afraid."

I am one of the more extreme cases of them violating constitutional rights. My rights to privacy, free speech, and religion have all been violated. There have also been other incidents where they feel they have the right to discipline other students about incidents that do not relate to school in any way, most prominently internet related ones. My goal is to get this illicit suspension removed from my record, and to establish a legal precedent where the fundamental legal rights guaranteed by the constitution as well as federal and state laws do not permit school administrators to wrongfully persecute students for exercising these rights.

I feel i got a very good case and i guess i want to feel validated about the lawyer i choose. he quickly took on my case with the contigency factor of 33.3%. i don't want to waste time on this. i want to feel like the person i choose is truly working hard on my case. and i just feel like if they are working for practically free (unless the lawsuit goes in our favor), than that person won't work as hard. I don't want to feel like i have to keep checking up on the case week after week to make sure that everything is rolling on point. should i be concerned?
