i agree with you to a degree, but publishing names and pictures of johns arrested with prostitutes would probably cut way back on prostitution also. once a few hundred prominent people, like doctors, lawyers, judges and clergymen get outed in the media, things may change. i don't believe that prostitution is a victimless crime,

actually warpig the idea with a legal brothel is to cut down on rape, STIs and abuse. condoms would be mandatory. women's and men's healths could be monitered. if people want to do that, then why not? a LOT of men would visit a legal brothel, meaning greater income for the prostitutes. i'm not ashamed to say i visited a brothel on a holiday to germany. there was nothing sleazy or unethical about it. obviously, i prefer having a girlfriend (like now) but there's nothing wrong with wanting sex and having to pay for it

basically, if porn is legal, lapdancing clubs are legal.....then why isn't prostitution? more women are being abused, it's not an easy thing to cut down on. sure, the sickos would still be out there but there's no way a prostitute would choose working on the streets to working in a legal brothel, a place that has a healthy atmostphere. these places usually have bars and other things on offer too, with all the nmoeny coming in the government could take a cut of the profits from public brothels

prostitution will always exist; it's not something you can make go away - it's been going on for thousands of years in various forms, and there will always be demand. legalise and regulate it. don't fight it,feel it

i think it is a very good idea to legalise brothels,
prostitutes have an important role to play in society and should be protected.
if they were legallised then it might well stop the kerb crawling, also sexually frustrated people would be able to get the satisfaction that they need, which may in turn reduce the amount of sex attacks and rapes,
partners of people who can no longer have sex for whatever reason, would be able to go safely to these place to get what they need rather than trying to have one night stands which again can cause lots of problems.
so surely it would be better knowing that the prostitutes were legal which would also lead to better sexual health because it would all be out in the open and not as it is now something which needs to hiden
and like every one else, they should be able to keep what they earn after paying their taxes and not have to give a percentage of it to blood sucking pimps,

Of course all countries should have legal brothels. All countries have prostitutes who are providing services which are demanded by consumers. It's much better to have these people working in the formal sector than the informal sector. Look at the Netherlands, legalised prositution has been very successful: less violence against women, lower rates of STD transmission, prostitutes pay taxes - everyone benefits. They even have a labour union there to protect their rights!

I believe it would be better than what is taking place here now.
It would reduce crime and having medical control over Prostitution would be a benefit to society.
