It depends. Are you a client of that lawyer? Is the other person who was copied also a client of that lawyer?

If both of you are clients of the same lawyer in the same case, then the a/c privilege could apply. If you are clients of different lawyers, but both on the same side of a case, then there's an issue that may turn on how your state applies the privilege law.

If you're clients of different lawyers in different cases, there is no privilege.

If you email your lawyer and don't cc anyone else, the communication IS protected by attorney-client privilege. If you email your own attorney and cc anyone outside of his/her office, including another of his/her clients, the communication is NOT necessarily privileged. If you email someone else’s lawyer, whether or not you cc someone else, including his/her client, the communication is NEVER protected by attorney-client privilege because you do not have an attorney client relationship with the other person’s lawyer.

When in doubt, ask the lawyer, or seek the advise of another lawyer in your area.

I hope that answers your question.
