Legally...a person is allowed to marry one person at a time...and if he/she has married more than one person (legally) then it is a crime. But unfortunately...some communities don't think of this as crime....and most of the time it doesn't get reported or any action would lead to communal unrest.

This is religion. But do you mean to say that Hindus do not practice polygamy?. Look around and you will find a lot of guys having concubines and extra marital affairs.

How many muslims can afford to marry more than one wife?. Do you know that some Hindu castes practice Polyandry?. Why did five pandavas marry Draupati?. Does it mean Mahabharata is asking Hindus to practice the same?. More than religion there is something called the culture and society. Definitely people have to follow the unofficial norms of the society. Democracy can not control your sexual urge and better try to come out of your mindset and stop always pickingup something against Muslims.

People like you are creating a rift in the Hindu Muslim unity but we will always love and support each other.

This question has been asked several times. I dont know why it keeps on coming back ?

I once again put before you some questions in my reply.

* How many of your muslim freinds [ I hope you certainly have few ] have married more than once ? In my set up none of my muslim colleagues have more than one wife while several Hindu freinds have.

* Have you ever read the surveys and reports of home ministry that polygamy is more prevaillent in Hindus rather than muslims ?

* There are certain rights of the minorities which have been protected by our constitution. Why didnt you ever challenged them in the court of law ?

* In a democratic country is it right to propagate only Hindu religion ? e.g.

-- Why only hindu rita\uals like Ganesh vandana, saraswati pooja is performed in all govt functions ?

--why slogans /qoutations from hindu scriptures only such as 'Bahujan hitaye, bahujan sukhaye . satyam, shivam, sundaram, tamso ma jyotirgamay, satyamev jayatey etc etc are selected in all govt emblems ?

Is it befitted in a truely democratic country ?

* Why only hindus are given benefits in the name HUF ?

Bcoz of this policy only, the muslims feel alienated from the mainstream and can easily be branded as antinationals.

Try to look at the positive side of the muslims also. You will be surprised that they are as nationalists, as sincere, as dynamic, as smart, as knowledgeble,[dumb too] like any other.

The Muslim religion allow them to marry as many times as they want.If they are having 4 wives and want to get married to another,it is very simple. They just have to recite Talaq 3 times in
front of few persons. They are very lucky. What this has got to do with democracy.

No. In a truly democratic country, all men would be allowed to marry up to four women! I think you should protest and claim your rights!

u need nt compare democracy with religions....i cnt a link b/w both of them, its just a matter of one's belief, democracy is a different thing, and secularism is, when we say we r a secular state it means we give all religion equla status and if sum religion has this kind of thing, we r noone to say its wrong..
