A few weeks back, there was a high school in my city who forfeited their baseball championship because it was found out that the coach had gone and recruited kids from Mexico to play for their team. The kids were not citizens, and they were recruited specifically to play baseball, but the coaches had labeled them "foreign exchange" students. SO, the poop hit the fan, the students were sent back to Mexico, fines were paid, coaches suspended, and a championship lost.
I just got hired on to teach high school English at a private school here. I found out from a colleague that the coach at this school has done the SAME thing. Went to Mexico, recruited a boy, and labeled him "foreign exchange" student, though he isn't.
Anyway, I am really uncomfortable with the whole thing.
So, is it against the law to recruit high school kids from other countries just to play sports? Or is it just unethical? Or both?
And, if illegal, should I do or say something? Or just turn a blind eye?

Whereas a high priority case like illegal wiretapping was ruled illegal quickly many times it takes years for laws to navigate the judicial system. Meanwhile unconstitutional laws are in full force and effect. Wouldn't it be more advantageous (for the people) for laws to be approved through a judicial process before they effect the populace? There could even be a system set in place for laws that are more critical to hit a fast track and be ruled on quicker then others. If the supreme court verified the laws before being instituted there would be less process because it would illiminate the need for people to challenge and appeal through many minor courts before being heard at the supreme level.
Likewise the people should be able to "veto" a judges ruling by say 3/4 vote of states. Makes sense to me...what about you?

The whole case is based on a misunderstanding regarding what constitutes residency. I have no past criminal record, not even as much as a driving ticket and I'm gainfully employed. The charge is a felony offense ( Va. Code 24.2-1016). What do you think would be a likely sentence if convicted?

People who hold a public office swear to uphold the laws of the Constitution of the U.S.
When Republicans built a stone monument to the 10 Commandments and placed it in a courthouse, claiming it was "historic", they were knowingly breaking standing Supreme Court interpretation of the Constitution. They did this in hopes that a new court would overturn the old decisions. When the decision wasn't overturned, they took the monument on tour around the nation to show how liberal activist judges (or the conservatives they themselves had appointed) were attacking good Christian values.
Also, many states are already working on projects to ban abortion, knowingly and openly admitting to breaking the Court's interpretation of the Constitution in hopes of a new decision.
Is breaking the Court's interpretation deliberately in hopes of an opportunity to change the decision breaking their oath to uphold the Constitution?
Would it be if liberals allowed gay marriage against a court's decision?

is it jsut me or would the legalization of drugs be good, in my opnion it would dramticlly lower the crime rate, peopel wouldnt have to kill and die for it, when they can go to doctor or wherever and get it for cheaper, maybe its the fact that its illegal and its a rush, legalizing would deff. increase the use of drugs, but ultimatly be better for america, right? i mean its not like im out murdering or stealing, im doing this to myself, why should something i do to myself be illegal...?

1. Should they serve for life without any responsibility?
2. Should they serve terms and have to be appointed or elected after the first term expires?

The President can only serve two terms, so why should they serve for life?

I choose number 2.
