Because it could be used to make a higher quality paper for cheaper.

The owner of the major paper companies at the time pushed and bribed and lied and was pretty much an all around bad guy, in order to secure his business in the paper industry.

It's illegal, because when they were building railroads and **** they used Mexican people as a good labor force. When everything was built and done the mexicans stayed and white people complained they were taking all the jobs. The mexicans also happened to be smoking a lot. so they made it illegal and ran any mexicans caught smoking it back to mexico. Go to the Histroy channel.com they did a whole documentary on how weed became illegal. People wish it was illegal cuz it makes you do "crazy" things. No one has committed any kind of real crime on weed alone.

I did a research paper on this topic a few years ago in college. From what i can remember: Marijuana was outlawed in the 1930's. The cause of outlawing it was because mexicans, african americans were making a pofit of this "cash crop". It became illegal from force of false propaganda, and it gave a reason to jail mexican and african american people. It also kept them as "low class" citizens. Aside from the false propaganda being heavily publisized, marijuana was NOT outlawed because it was any threat or harm to a person.

Marijuana is illegal in PA and the US because it influences a person to do without knowing what he is doing. Thus, a person who smoked marijuana can do a lot of things such as comitting a crime. It was on these findings that the state make possession, sale and use of marijuana as a crime.
