Seriously.

A prostitute is a person who has sex with random people in order to make a profit.

A porn star is also a person who has sex with different people in order to make a profit.

The only real difference is one is being videotaped and released to a mass audience.

So why is a prostitute thrown in jail, while the porn star is not.

Are they not both doing the same exact job?

I've heard a very strange rule that makes no sense to me. Apparently there is a rule for Jusrists that indicates that a Judge cannot be romanticaly involved with a Witch, and that this rule has been around for a while. Personally I don't believe it, but I thought that since ti might be an old law still on the books there might be a probability. Is this ture, and can someone explain to me why?

I am not real familiar with warrants, other then what I have seen on telivision. Constitutionally it seems that they need to have probable cause to wire tap. Shouldn't that be an easy thing to get if you have the intellegence? I mean come one, if I am making routine calls to the middleast and recieving packages with odd smells that are caught by bomb sniffing dogs...that would be a pretty good reason to at least tap my phone. If I were to be consistantly contacting the middle east in known terrorist areas is that not enough to get a warrant?
Why should the government even need to have a warrantless program? "insert quote attributed to ben franklin about giving up safety and security and deserving neither" Its dangerous to advocate or support unconstitutional behavior. Especially when the government is so good at turning a blind eye and rationalizing.

Shouldn't moral and ethical issues be placed in the hands of the people? I understand that certain areas were delegated to government to handle. Overall the general idea was that we fostered freedom in the U.S. What we did not want was a controlling government telling us what to do at every turn. The U.S. was set up in such a way as to allow freedom of expression, religion, press etc. At no point in time do I see reason for the government to be a moral compass for individual citizens. If the citizens of a state or nation decided that a moral view or ethical stance should be acceptable, shouldn't that be considered the will of the people? The framers certainly believed in our natural rights as people...why should our rights stop at morality? Shouldn't there be an avenue for the majority of the populace to set their own moral code, as long as it did not take away those specific rights given in the Constitution...Doesn't that make more sense then legislatived morality?

...to be willing to take my mom to court for my property when, the first time I tried to move out she literally started choking me and I had to lift her off her feet and throw her onto a couch to get away, and then when I came back to get my things she hit me in the face, twisted my arm behind me, and I had to throw her on the ground to get away. And both time the cops did nothing.

The Second amendment "A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." seems pretty clear to me. I would like to understand how somthing so obvious, like "bearing arms" is so widely disputed "collective right vs Individual right". Even the wording infringed is obvious to me. Infringed would be a violation of a right. Where is the Supreme Courts stance when considering many notable infringments on an individuals ability to bear arms? Where is a great resource for finding this information in the future....yeah I know about wikipedia already, I need a source that is a little more comprehensive on past rulings, current rulings as well as upcoming rulings.

When Bill Clinton was being investigated for committing perjury in a deposition in a private matter, the House started impeachment proceedings against him. But when two of George Bush's major policies have now been found illegal -- his detention policy was ruled unconstitutional by the 7 Republican member United States Supreme Court no less, and his NSA spying policy was held unconstitutional today by a United States District Court -- nobody is demanding his trial. Shouldn't the same people who wanted Bill Clinton strung up for lying under oath be after Bush for trashing the Constitution that he took an oath to uphold?

The Dept. of Justice has said, "the Terrorist Surveillance Program is an essential tool for the intelligence community in the War on Terror."

Whatever happened to...
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." -Ben Franklin??

What scares you more? The off chance that you may be killed by a terrorist? Or the very real probability of leaving your children and grandchildren with an all-powerful oppressive dictatorship instead of a government which is ruled by the people and limited in power by common sense rules?

Would you rather live a substandard life in which you're guaranteed you'll die safely in your warm bed? Or a life that can take you as far as your ambition will take you but that comes with a chance that you may *GASP!* die?
