Our company pension, 401k and ins. plans are good, we just don't like how our pay is structured.

what we did in one company i worked for was to organize a grievance commitee and had 2 reps from our own ranks to talk to management. we got no where so we invited the union in. that got managements attention. they said theyd be more cooperative if we voted the union down and it worked. we voted against the union and didnt get exactly what we wanted but things did get better.

You can't use an employee to negotiate pay for your company unless you have a union because that employee can't bind another employee to a contract unless it's under a union.

first off if it's a union shop u will have to join or u can be blackballed. No one can fight for u without the union pr omission. u really have no choose but to join,

Sure, but by defintion you're basically creating your own union.

I'm sure you could hire "somebody" (e.g. a costly lawyer) or other negotiator to work out a contract.

But, I think it may depend on the state you live in too....(e.g. right to work or not)
