Child protective services took all 4 of my kids when one was diagnosed as being failure to thrive. She was born at 4lbs, full term! And had trouble growing and gaining weight long before she was born.. but to make a long story short, the kids were taken, and now 2 of the kids are in temp placement at my folks house, and the other two are on their way hopefully soon. My problem is with daughter's foster mother, She is very unfriendly, judgemental, and uncooperative toward me and my family. She brings my daughter late for the visits, I'm talking 30 minutes to an hour each time, then she is late picking her up or either she wants someone to meet her halfway or bring my daughter back to her (she doesn't work and has a flexible schedule). I know she's supposed to do all the drving for the visits! I know she gets a gas allowance to drive the foster kids to all visits! Can anything be done about this? She is close with the social worker and other foster mother,
so my hands are tied there!!

companies are snooping into people's private lives by making them take nicotine tests and fire them if they have any nicotine in their body. I do not support smoking in any way, shape or form, but i believe people should be allowed to do what they want in their own homes as long as it's legal, and that includes smoking, and some companies are now even snooping into their employee's spouses lives. In addition to this in many states companies can fire you for any reason they want including what kind of car you drive, what you drink, even what kind of TV you watch. this is as discriminatory as it gets. there should be laws that would prevent companies from firing people based on their private lives. People who may be very hardworkers can be fired because they live their private lives in a way that does not match the preference of the companies.

Since women have the ability to have an abortion, put the baby up for adoption etc., should men be able to decline paternity? Currently a man can be forced to pay child support etc, based solely on the mother's decision to keep or not to keep the baby, is this a fair law? It seems to protect mothers at the expense of men.

The reason I am asking is in regards to a story in the Washington Post of Sunday, July 16: “For (woman’s name), her duties as a nurse began to conflict with her Christian faith when the county health clinic where she worked near Memphis required she dispense the morning-after pill. "’I felt like my religious liberties were being violated,’" said (name), 49, of Atoka, Tenn. "’I could not live with myself if it did it. I answer to God first and foremost.’"

The lede of the Post article:
“In Chicago, an ambulance driver refused to transport a patient for an abortion. In California, fertility specialists rebuffed a gay woman seeking artificial insemination. In Texas, a pharmacist turned away a rape victim seeking the morning-after pill.”

so many companies are getting rid of their pensions which they promised employees when they where first hired and leaving people's lives in ruin. I know people should start saving for retirement, instead of relying on companies to pay for their retirement, but companies should be forced to pay pensions that they promised when they began, and if that still can't happen the government should still give people money enough for subsistence. that is not counting social security, which will soon go broke.

My uncle passed away last week... he was very sick and was placed on life support by his physician...

The problem here is that he had a living will that SPECIFICALLY stated he was not to be placed on life support under ANY circumstances.

My family asked the hospital why they allowed this to happen, and their response was, "No one checked for a living will."

What do you think we should do? Let it lie, or bring the problem to someone's attention? If this happened to my uncle, I'm sure it has happened to others.

(I posted this question in another section also, I was unaware that there is a section on law and ethics - sorry.)
