Depends. Is the quotation trademarked or copyrighted? If yes, then no, you can't put on cups.

Look for quotations that are in what's called the public domain. These will for the most part be pretty old. Many will be well known, but with a little effort, you might find what you need.

Where are the quotes you are using being taken from? Are they from books, authors, actors, where? In most cases, you must either obtain written permission to use the quotes or you must contain something to the tune of "quote courtesy of abc media"
