I have a family member that has been a full time employee of a local company for many years (we'll call the company "Bigco"). When a one time job came up at Bigco, my relative referred me to his employer. I began the job right away - painting a laboratory on Bigco's grounds. This lab was an inside a warehouse. In this warehouse broken glass and water were on the floor throughout. During the course of my work day I reeled in a hose over the warehouse floor, in so doing I cut my hand. Two days later I was hospitalized with a life threatening infection - flesh eating bacteria. I am, almost wo months later, just now recovering. Is the owner of Bigco liable in any way since the orignal injury happened there?

I have posted a previous question so please refer to this. I just want to say that my daughter is my whole world I would never do anything to hurt her or put her in harms way. She is the only family I have and I would always put her safety and life before mine. It has been pretty upsetting reading some of the posts on here in reference to my question. I acknowledge that the hard shoulder is not the best place in the world to stop...I didn't need another 60 odd people in the world to tell me that. That is why I tried for a good 20 minutes to distract my daughter. I have never experienced her crying like that before and as time went on with me driving it just seemed to get worse. I became increasingly distressed and unfortunately I did start crying too because my daughter wouldn't stop. I would not allow my daughter to pass out if she was that upset...why would you think I would let that happen? I cannot be sure I was driving safely (continues in details)…

Since we know that evryone is equal before the law, then everyone should experience the same protection of the law. Therefore, when the courts applies the reasonable test for negligence, do they interprete it to accomodate every culture, in a diverse and multi-cultural society?

OK, so... im 20 yrs old and to make a long story short my parents got to my tax return before I did in the mail and cashed it at a bank or some check cashing place using my signature on it which they forged on there themselves without me knowing. I found all this out after speaking with a representitive from the IRS on the phone. Does anyone know what law(s) were broken and if so what is the punishment? I am eager for payback. Cheers!

I recently saw an article about a group that has created their own donors list for organs. They do donate directly to the general populace but only if the other members of the group do not need an organ. Either a) Those who are willing to donate get the priveledge of first choice or b) everyone needing a transplant should be considered equally worthy and the standard practice of medical qualification should apply.

And, just to clear up a possible bit of confusion... all organ donors must be cleared through the federal group before operations can begin. The question is whether or not a private group is allowed to manage their own organ donorship.

I live in Wisconsin - last year I lent my best friend $550 (a rather stupid thing to do now that I think about it). She still owes $300 and we are no longer friends and I'm pretty sure she has no intention of paying it back. I never had her sign anything saying I lent it to her. All evidence I have of it is the withdrawal from my savings account, and possibly her bank's records of her putting it into her account (same amount). Could I get anywhere if I took her to court?

How long should a person that has been committed of a crime of murder be allowed to stay alive in the prison. So that tax payers like us have to support these inmates sometimes as long as 10, 15, and 20 years. I personnally think there should be a 72 hour turn around when there is 100% proof that this person committed the crime.

I dont know what to do, I dont even know if its still valid. I dont know if I need to prove it, or if theres anything I can do at all. Last winter I ran away and he kept me for 3 weeks, and my head has been totally messed up. What can I do?

I recently had a second divorce hearing out of what will probably be one hundred.(sigh) Anyway, I had two witnesses in the hall and after the hearing the family court commissioner walked out of the courtroom, met up with a male co-worker and she proceeded to laugh and tell him what I had said. Then looking at my witnesses, she lowered to a whisper and they went into a room and continued to whisper. What I had done during this hearing was stand up for my right to choose my occupation...something among the many things they were trying to dictate to me. My occupation I've chosen is reputable and yet they belittled me and told me to get a "real" job. After 13 years of emotional abuse I figure I'm about due to have some respect. Should I seek her superiors and tell them about how unprofessional she had been even though she will deny the whole thing and I'll look like the idiot again? Or let it go and see how she treats me from here out?

The owner of the land hired help to keep an eye on this ranch that we live on. On our anniversary, this guy shot our 8 month old puppy in our extended backyard. Due to the pain and stress of the situation, we didn't file a police report, we were more worried with giving the puppy a burial. A day later, we realized that it was too late to file a report because we do have any proof. Now, we would like to take the guy to small claims court to make him accountable for what he did (he never even appologized). What do we need to do?

I purchased it on April 1st. The creditor filed on April 3rd. I left the truck in front of my house while I was out of town for a month to deter burglars. While I was gone the sheriff seized my truck of which I have the title, tag, and registration in my name. THey didn't check to see whose truck it was before they seized it. I have a bill of sale which is also registered on my registration. I have to go to court now to contest the seizure on Thursday. What are my chances of getting it back? My ex owed the Ace Hardware 2000 but they owed him 2000 for work he performed there. They beat him to the clerks office and filed before he did due to him being in jail. Please help! I thought about going to a cash for title place before court but a deputy said that would be illegal!!! HOw can getting a loan on my own truck illegal as compared to what they did!!! I suppose all I can do if the backwoods legal system of Bofunk, Alabama decides to award the creditor my truck is to appeal!

They can't ask your last name, can they? Or is there some kind of check in and check out for people there under court order?

And does it really help to go if you're only there because the court is making you go?
