Depends on the area you live in. You might want to check with your local police department before asking and your local phone company. If you prank call the same person repeatedly, it can be considered harassment, and I know some phone companies will prosecute prank callers.

Yes for all intents and purposes, it's not a major crime but it is a crime since it's harassment. Obviously most people don't press charges due to prank calls though

no..it becomes harrassment when the peron calls the police or phone company and reports it.

if you get caught, yes it is, if your a minor your parents can go to prison .
