Now that Iraq is in a civil war (yes, by definition they are: civil war n.A war between factions or regions of the same country), which side do we choose? If we are going to stay in Iraq, we can't play both side of the tracks, we have to choose one or the other, don't we? For all of you war supporters; did you think this would happen, lots of government analysts warned of this (you know, the ones the Bushies didn't listen too, the ones whose assessments they conveniently chose not to talk about openly, or outright repudiated in public, yeah, those ones). What do we do now? Stay the course...hang on, that slogan has been retired. What's the latest slogan, "Forward to Victory"...there have been so many I can't remember them all.
Now, here's the challenge; rather than bash me for a Liberal (which I am not, just because I think this administration has made a terrible mistake doesn't make me a Liberal), what, exactly, should be done next? BTW, Clinton bashing isn't an answer.

My mother-in-law thinks that I am trying to keep my daughter from her, which I am not I am a stay at home mom and she knows(my husband and I have told her many times) that she can come over to our house anytime she wants to. Last night she decided to go off on me about it and said that she would take me to court and get full custody of my daughter or at least have every weekend with her. Here is my question can she do that? She also has a record (1992-Battery(twice), 1992 Criminal Sex abuse(had sex with a 14yr olds) She was found guilty off all three charges. She used to be a daycare worker but after the criminal sex abuse charge she lost her license and can't work with kids at all anymore. So would the courts grant her custody or every weekend visitations? I don't like leaving my daughter alone with her.

With so much being said about sex offenders, do many of you know that:
If your in the woods and have to use the bathroom, and get caught, if convected, due to the fact of nudity outside of a structure, you will be on the list?
The majority of the lists people are teenagers who has sex with their girlfriends? (who DIDN'T try to get laid in highschool)
And, is it really fair that if a person is at a bar, where no one under 18 is even allowed in, and picks up someone, and they turn out to be under 18, goes to jail?
Is it fair that if a overage girl goes to a bar and gets drunk, and has sex, that she can say she didn't remember so it must have been rape?

The list was made over a sweet little girl being murdered, do we honor her now with all that is on it.

Girls (and guys) remember, if you go to a bar, no one makes you drink, so have somene there to watch over you if you are worried that YOU will be out of control. And if you don't, blame YOURSELF for it.

Safer than when and what is being covered in that statement? Am I personally safer where I live? For the last eighteen years I have never felt safer. Is my country? I feel not.

I got a Hello Kitty toaster for Christmas! But with a normal adaptor plug, there is simply too much power since it is an USA import (as in it burnt my toast in 3 second and was glowing like molten..) Does anyone know of any product I can use along with or instead of the adaptor plug which will reduce the amount of power going in as to not damage the toaster?

I need my Hello Kitty toast!

Thanks

I have been informed that the US Gov't. requires all Russian citizens who wish to visit the US for a short term are required a passport, visa, medical insurance, certain amount of money, must own real estate to prove that they will return back at the end of their visit. What really are the true requiremnts for a Russian citizen to enter the US for a visit? Must all documents and tickets be purchased through an agent of the US Gov't. or an American Embassy? What truly are the fees and requirements for an impending visit?

If the Indians had any brains you would think they would have been more willing to share their land with the white man instead of being so greedy?

Why didnt they just move to Canada and be done with it?

I've been told that is the kind of policy that Germany used against Austria in 1914. What does it really mean? What does a country do when it pursues a blank check policy?

To the tune of "Way Down Upon the Swanee River"

Way down upon Dick Cheney's liver
Somewhere near his guts
Lies a heart as cold as Breyer's ice cream
With chocolate fudge and almond nuts

Way down upon Dick Cheney's scrotum
That's a funny thought
Can you imagine if he gave a speech naked
And never ever even got caught?

I was pulled over and the officer said I was doing 90 in a 65 dropping down into a 55 mph zone. He went back to his car for a good 20 minutes then comes back tells me to get out of the car and says he is arresting me for reckless driving. He then tells me I have to appear in court, yada yada, takes my picture with my vehicle and says if I don't appear he will come find me.

My question is does anyone have experience fighting a reckless driving charge, specifically in Connecticut, more specific in Meriden? Also, it seems that this is a charge most associated with DUI and I was not drinking and driving so I believe that all in all the officer was just being a jerk but how can I turn that into a viable argument.

Among the arguments I plan to pose are that the CT law says that speeding alone does not constitute reckless driving but that reckless driving involves wilfull and wanton behavior which is definied as posing a danger to anyone other than yourself.

Does a document stamped by a notary stay valid, even after the expiration date on their stamp?

I have a document notarized 2 years ago I need to submit with an application. The notary's stamp says her notary license was up a couple months ago. Is the document still valid even though her term as a notary may not be?
