Hopefully you're moving to an area with other Asians and will have a social club that will give you hints on how to fit in and where to buy the foods that make you feel at home while you're becoming addicted to McDonald's and Starbucks.
Hopefully your grandmother has cable television with the extra channels that include asian programming and international news where you can keep track.
Meanwhile if you're going to a local high school that is not predominantly asian, all the non-asian guys will automatically think you're hot, so you'll have that going for you.
Your English is already great so you won't have that hurdle.

Asia is a pretty big place, so I am not sure if you mean Asian like Korean or Asian like Indian, or what. However, most Asians here speak English, and it seems as if you do, so it will mostly just be a matter of meeting new people, as if you moved to a new town over there. We have a lot of Asians here so as you adjust you should be able to speak to others who have done the same thing. However, if you really want to 'adjust', Americans who aren't Asian aren't off limits, you know.
Countries are definitely different, but I think you'll be able to manage that.
Oh, yes, moving away from your friends is always tough. However, if you moved within your own country you would face that too.
Despite what many on this answer board charge, people over here actively LIKE legal immigrants and will be very interested in you and to learn how it is different where you come from.
Good luck, and welcome!

Depending on your age.....join a church if you are Christian, join a club .... bowling, atheletic club, anything! Just get out and make friends... If you are younger than 17 join the girl scouts. You need friends as fast as possible to adjust quickly.
P.S. Take a bunch of trinkets that you can give to your new firends fromyour country. They don't have to be expensive at all. Just something cool. A pencil with asian writing on it is neat. Save some for your friends that you will meet in a year or two as well. Don't give them to the Asian speaking people. Just the English speaking. This will be a really cool thing to do. Don't give Asian sweets though. YUCK... :)

Hi Jaja,
I don't know exactly what your worries are focused on- leaving your friends or making new ones, school, family? There are plenty of children who live here in the school year and go back to their respective countries of origin over the summer. You will have fun learning about new places and meeting new people and opportunities.
If you have any questions while you are here, don't hesitate to ask!

Communication is the answer and it looks like from your question that that will be no problem for you. Americans respect Asians and will enjoy meeting you and sharing experiences. You will do just fine. Welcme to America in advance.

Well at first it will be quite difficult. Moving to the US will be a culture shock if you are used to living in Asia. Depending on how old you are, it may not be that difficult. But be patient and open to new ideas, but don't try to assimilate to quickly and lose your Asian traditions. Peace and Blessings in your new journey

Just relax, we have a little bit of everything here, even if you dont feel like you belong, you do. America has a little bit of every ethnicity, every language, and plenty of people visiting. all you really need to do is realize that you fit in just fine and you will be all set.
