Prostitution is legal in the UK, even if it is discouraged. Pimping however IS illegal.

Saying no, prostitution should not be illegal, does not in any way address the problem that there is such a thing as prostitution in the first place and as far as I know there has never been a murder of a prostitute by a woman. If there was it was probably a crime passionelle not some kill at random sick git.

The number of prostitutes that exist in today's society for me is a symptom by which we can tell that that we live in a very SICK society.
That said, in my opinion they perform a vital task to take care of those that cannot do without their service for one reason or another. As such they should be protected from the pimps, the drugs, the abuse and all the other things that they endure.
This can only be done by making it legal and controlled just like any other service along with health and safety etc....

It is not illegal to be prostitute in Britain. What is illegal is to solicit for prostitution. If you are a prostitute with you own place you can advertise and and carry on you trade without any problems provided you work on your own. You can have a maid to answer the door and serve refreshments ( I have done that it's good fun). One of the con tributary problems to the Ipswich case was that the girls were grouping together to do their business and residents were understandably complaining so the police were breaking up the groups. When this happened the girls could no longer protect each other by taking car numbers and times when the girls were picked up. Had they done this then maybe less girls would have been killed as the police would have know the number of the car the first girl go into

It is not illegal to have sex for money. It is illegal to live off immoral earnings.

Even if there were loads of legal brothels, street and other prostitution would still carry on. Lots of prostitutes would not want to work in a regulated place. Lots of punters would not want to visit one. A pro who does not want her family to know what she does would not want to work in a legal place, which was checked and where she had to pay tex. Married men would not want to be a regular at such an establishment.

More women get murdered by their husbands and boyfriends than prostitutes get murdered by punters.

Yes I do believe that prostitution should be illegal. I certainly wouldn't want a daughter of mine selling her body. It is a sin against all we are led to believe in that is Christian. Nowadays with all the benefits on offer it is often just an easy way to have sex without the commitment of a steady relationship. Can't somebody teach them that sex without love is nothing.

I think the governement has no right to inflict values on any human being unless it is harming another person. If someone wants to make a living as a prostitute and they are not on the welfare system, I'm all for it. Besides there will always be a market for it, probably most of the married men who oppose it so strongly.....

Anyway - who really cares? It doesn't effect me one way or the other. think people should be allowed to have any carreer they want as long as it isn't stealing, killing, raping or harming another person.

I think that if prostitution in a safe establishment were legal, women wouldn't have to walk the streets and be in dangerous situations

yes i no a few girls who do it to support them self's but think of it this way if it was legal then it would probly be conducted in a safer environment not street walking brothels would be legal it would be socially accepted so it would not be seen as completely wrong no offence but i think that if ya need the money and that's the means you have then why should it be anyone Else's choice what ppl choose to do with there body's no one decide if i can have sex with my bf so Why should ppl make that choice for grown women who of most make a living out of it to support them self's and there children.
