A so-called friend of mine borrowed a lot of money from me, she said she was going to pay me back within two weeks. It has been a month and she said she was going to pay me back today, she is not answering the phone and I have a feeling she left the country either last night or this morning. I'm finding out a lot about her now and she has a lot of drama going on. I even heard that the police are looking for her...for stealing. What are my options?

The Supreme Court ruled a while back that the warrantless wire-tapping program violated FISA and Amendment IV of the Consitution.
They also ruled that the insurgents are protected too under the Geneva Convention and must be treated in certain conditions.
So not wanting them to be tortured and having a right to a fair trial means we love the terrorists? I think it's really that democrats love our laws, not terrorists.
Republicans, though, act like "If I'm not doing anything wrong I don't have to worry about the wire-tapping"...clearly not cognizant of the fact that what our government is doing is illegal. Either that or they just don't care. Take your pick.

I mean, what's with all of the ugly name calling, the hurtful chants, and the skumming down in public forums. I mean, I get more dirt rubbed on me here, then I do cleaning my cow barns!

Considering that Saddam was responsible for the unwarranted deaths of perhaps 10,000 Iraqis, tops... while Bush was responsible for the unwarranted deaths of at least ten times that number of them. Then... isn't it a shame that IF Bush could be convicted and sentenced to death -- that there's no way that he could be executed 10 times? That would be only fitting, after all.

And... failing any of that, then the next-best thing would be to simply turn Saddam loose with our apologies and reinstate him as President of Iraq. He then could do that which we've been ABYSMAL at: reunify that country and re-stabilize it. Meanwhile, his people would idolize him! (Too bad it had to cost anywhere between 100,000 and 600,000 innocent Iraqi lives (and those of around 3,000 of our troops) for us to get to this point.)

"economic disparity, imperialism, and religious obscurantism are what drive people to terrorism--to eliminate it, we must eliminate these things, otherwise we will always have it"

Extreme economic disparity - I don't see how we can address that now.

Imperialism - ditto

Religious Obscurantism - For all intents and purposes impossible.

Today the USA used the VETO against a resolution that condemns a massacre of the Palestinians on the hands of the Isrealies. For god sake... a VETO on only condemning the massacre. I am wondering why did the US use the VETO?

"all states must compromise about not selling weapons to terrorists. if there is no weapons, there will no war"

Agreed by me. What if we create Goals?

Goal #1 - Prevent terrorists from obtaining arms.

Is it among shamefull things America has done to it's troops ?

When they stand up, we'll stand down.
We're there just "as long as it takes".

Is this an extreemly sloppy way to define victory ?

I just bought the book "Flags of our Fathers", but I once read part of another book about Iwo Jima and I really liked it, but I can't remember the title or the author. My uncle died there and today is Veteran's Day, which reminded me of this.

"we have the same problem we have had since the usa was formed....not one percent higher...we should simply go back to the way life was before 911 otherwise they have won"

Assuming you are talking about political struggle - Your solution is to simply ignore the problem now?

I can't agree with that, it is a problem (albeit not as huge as some claim) that we are concerned with. My suggestion would be to do my #2, 3, and 4. Then perhaps if the problem isn't that large - we stop.
