I think it's because they just don't have the iron fist that many great leaders, such as Stalin and Napoleon had. It's the anger and strength that makes a good leader.

What happened? I thought the evil republican party rigged the elctronic voting machines to give them the elections? Was it a technical problem? Did the democrats enlist the help of the greatest computer hackers of the world. I'm really dissapointed... I mean the people that pulled off 9-11 can't even rig an election anymore? Sad. Was it blackwater and halliburtons day off? Geez.

Homeland Security Report - Page 7:

In 2005 the government estimates the following crossed our Southern Boarder:

5.6 to 11.2 million pounds of cocaine.

34.3 to 68.6 million pound of marijuana.

*********************************
(Same Report)

Federal Drug "Seizures" on our Southern Boarder in Fiscal Year 2005:

1,129,275 pounds of cocaine.
6,866,465 pounds of marijuana
16,790 pounds of methamphetamine.

According to the National Drug Intelligence Center, Mexican cartels are “the predominant smugglers, transporters, and wholesale distributors of cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, and Mexico-heroin in the United States” and “are expanding their control over the distribution of these drugs in areas long controlled by Colombian and Dominican criminal groups, including areas of New York and Florida.”

Here is what I think should be done;

1. Protect the US first. Cover the borders and ports to deny entry to those who intend to do us harm, and materials which can be used to harm us within the framework of the law.
2. Identify and rebuild co-operation and trust with countries and groups who abhor terrorism and the taking of innocent life.
3. Build information databases on known terrorists, and those who aid them.
4. Share that information with those who we reasonably feel abide by international law, and invite them to add information or dispute information they feel is wrong.
5. Make binding agreements with them to act jointly or independently as necessary on information we both agree is correct.

Thoughtfully detailed answers appreciated.

I will ask more questions on this subject as I have time available based on _reasonable_ answers given, with the intent of continuing the discussion.

Like what acts give it to them. For example, the patriot act, and that new one(don't know it's name) but they go around things like search and seizure and due process of law, right?

As much detail as possible will be appreciated.

I was shown today a link on the web to the atrocities of 9/11. Cold blooded murder as was London with no regard for our lives. But instead of it being a simple terrorist attack it seem there was gain to be had. In a world where we live can anyone really prosper thru terrorism and if so has the lease owner of the world trade towers become the first.? I am truly disturbed by what i have seen as it leads me to believe innocent people were killed by falling the towers or using controlled explosions to "pull the towers".
Is the reality of terrorism a way of making a good few quid/dollar the new way of making ourselves financially secure. It is sourced that the towers were insured against terrorist attack 3 months prior. I want not to open wounds nor cause conflict just find out peoples views to these theories.

Who would like to see a new major party formed to represent the true moderates of the country? The Democrats are going to far left and the republicans to far to the right. Wouldn't it be great to have a party that could take the good from both parties and represent our interests?

Do you think that he set it up all by himself, that he and his Saudi associates worked together, that Bush knew about it and did nothing, or that Bush really is innocent (had no idea that it would occur, or didn't know the specifics)? I can't help but think that he needed the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but I won't go into any further detail. What's everyone think?

PS - I'm neither Democrat nor Republican.
