The government could care less. It's the corporations. And it's not the pot, it's the hemp that they have to keep illegal. It would replace too many poisonous things that they sell. Companies like Monsanto. Those are the kinds of companies that lobbied to make it illegal, many decades ago. Example. The first American battle ship was made of 85% hemp. Do a search and see how it use to be the main stay for the entire planet.

i think of that the reason the government won't legalize marijuana is as a results of the fact they could't administration it. every physique can improve it and sell it. Marijuana is unlike cigarettes, the place the government can tax it. i think of that they do exactly not prefer to legalize yet another substance that could impair your skills. It is wise, with the aid of fact some human beings are stupid. i don't think of that it may be the top of the worldwide in the event that they did legalize it, yet there's a asserting " A single individual could nicely be smart, yet human beings are stupid". meaning one individual can smoke marijuana and be cool approximately it yet once you look on the lots, human beings are stupid. some peopl smoke it and then decide for achronic or they do something that their undivided interest. i wish that gave you a sparkling look at your question.

The whole tax stamp issue means nothing unless it's legal....Marijuana should be legalized, it's ridiculous we're still spending millions of dollars trying to combat a substance that is far less harmful than alcohol and actually has been proven to have medicinal uses. It should be treated the same as booze, legalize it, tax it and take the criminal element away.

i think it's mostlly a matter of detection... obviously there are situations where one should not be high, like driving. but i don't think there's currently any effective methods to determine if a person is actually high at that instant.

i personally wouldn't be opposed to legalization. i know of several people that smoke casually but are still productive members of society, etc... i think the argument that all people would use marijuana if it were legalized is completely unfounded. in my opinion, legalizing marijuana won't bring about the destruction of this country... i believe that religion will do more to accomplish that

Because they can't make money on it. If it was legalized & taxed, the untaxed pot would be much cheaper because it is so easy to grow guaranteed good pot.

Some states have legalized pot for specific uses. Trouble is, the US Govt does not recognize the state laws and bust people who have it. Doctors, Pharmacists, & users are on the tax lists so the tax is collectible. The Feds just seize the tax rolls. I believe Alaska has no tax on pot, so the Feds have to work harder to bust you. But they do, often.

b/c marijuana is a drug that alters the way your brain works. although its effects are not as horrific as other illicit drugs, it still can have horrible effects. first of all, marijuana is a gateway drug. this means that u start with pot and then move on to the harder stuff. also, when high, ur judgement is very very very impaired. u r a threat to urself and others. while alochol is like this as well, it is easier to control consumption for many.with pot, one smoke and u could be high already. pot also causes lung cancer, memory loss, etc. i knew a person who was driving his little brother to his soccer practice while high and he crashed the car, killing his brother. it was the middle of the day and he was high and driving his little brother. can u imagine? ppl think that pot is just a whatever drug and that u can smoke it anytime, but its consequences are not worth it.

Sounds like you know more about it than I do, but I would say that a majority of the USA citizens would have to want it legallized before the Government would even consider it.

You probably think your smarter than everyone else, but the truth is, many many more people think legallizing marajuana is a very very bad idea.

The DEA is too big an organisation for pot to become legal. They made it illegal after the repeal of prohibition so they would not have to disband.
