Hilary Clinton. I think we need a woman President. Then in the next election, a Arican American should win. It is not fair that men always win and always cockasian people win too. Why don't you think Hilary, she is the best?

Multiple answers:

1. The great science fiction writer Robert A. Heinlien once suggested that the desire to old such an office should disqualify the person from holding it. Thus, we would spend our time finding the most qualified person and drag that individual kicking and screaming into reluctant service.

2. Barak Obama, if he has the courage to hold to his guns.

3. I am interested in NM Governer Bill Richardson and hearing more about him.

Someone who is not wealthy, does not come from a blue blood family, did not graduate from an ivy league school. Someone who can genuinely relate to the problems of the average middle class family. Someone who also has an understanding of basic world history and can compose themselves with dignity in front of other world leaders. Someone who is not beholden to corporate masters for donations. Someone who is religious and holds those beliefs close but does not let it affect his political decisions. Someone who is an honest good family man or woman. Someone who is always seeking new ways to compromise and make the world a better place.Someone humble and honest who doesnt lie to the American people all the time, or dumb down his speeches because he or she thinks that is what they will understand.

Former United States Senator from Tennessee, Fred Thompson, now an actor on "Law and Order." He's got the right stuff; and as a bonus, he has the one attribute none of his opponents would have that would make him the best person for the job: he doesn't want it.

I remember reading, at least 35 years ago, in an editorial in the now long-defunct Chicago Daily News, a statement that has stuck with me during all these intervening years:

Those qualities that impel a man to put himself forward in pursuit of public office ahead all of his peers and to clamor for the attention of the public in that pursuit and exaggerate his own achievements and qualifications are the very same qualities that disqualify him from holding the office.

There isn't anyone. The job is way too big, the government is way too big, and we expect way too much from the president. Rudy Guiliani is probably the least unqualified guy around.

Keep in mind that we are electing an entire administration, which will need many highly qualified people. It takes only one bad one to louse up the works.
