I think it's because they just don't have the iron fist that many great leaders, such as Stalin and Napoleon had. It's the anger and strength that makes a good leader.

A woman can't be a good leader? I believe history proves you wrong.

Cleopatra
Queen Elizabeth I
Margaret Thatcher
Empress Theodora

BTW - I do not agree that anger makes a good leader.

So nice to hear you hold leaders like Stalin & Napoleon in such high esteem... I have to assume the point you are making is that maybe women CAN make great leaders without killing and threatening so many people, women like Margeret Thatcher, Indira Ghandhi, Hatshepsut, Elizabeth Cody Stanton, Aung San Suu Kyi, Wangari Maathai, Golda Meir, Roberta Jamieson, Rosa Parks, Thérèse Casgrain, Emily Murphy, Megawati Sukarnoputri, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Khaleda Zia, Madame Wu Yi, Joan of Arc, Mother Theresa, Sally Ride, Sirimavo Bandara-naike, Chandrika Kumaratunga........

If you want to include women with the same "sensitivities" as Stalin or Napoleon, there's always Boadicea, Cleopatra, Lucreza Borgia, Catherine the Great....

Anger & Strength make lousy leaders. Who is the "mos successful leader of all time"? I would argue that it's (though I think he's a fiction) Jesus Christ, who cannot be argued as having been "angry" or having an "iron fist", yet look how many people's lives he controls!

Do you not consider these women "good leaders"? Or is the media you read so messed up you don't know who most of them are?

P.S. Getting laid much, Steve?

Margaret Thatcher is regarded as one of the best leaders in the West since the second World War. There have been exceptional women leaders of India and Israel. Just because there haven't been any women presidents in the US yet doesn't mean that a woman couldn't make an excellent leader. Certainly, any woman could be better than Bush.

You look and Stalin and Napoleon as a plus? All anger and strength do is make some one a bully. Didn't the last 6 years of bush show you that?

1) Women can be good leaders. Many have.
2) women can be every bit as tough as men. Golda Meir, former Prime Minister of Israel is a prime example.
3) Napolean was a dictator.
4) Stalin was an extremely brutal dictator. You need to reevaluate your choices of heros.
5) While strength is an asset, anger is not. A good leader always exhibits self control.

Well, you're wrong in saying that anger makes a good leader; anger leads people into unnecessary wars.
Stalin was a dictator and possibly history's worst human being, ever, Hitler included.
Women aren't as aggressive as men are. Whether or not that's a good quality, in the grand scheme of things, is another question in and of itself.

Define leader. A tyrant is NOT a leader. A leader inspires folks to follow them, not through fear but rather through loyalty. Examples: Ghandi, ML King, and others. How about such diverse female leaders as Eva Peron, Gold Meier, and Margaret Thatcher?

I agree about Hillary but not because of her gender.

I think that women can be good leaders, its just hard to come to accept a woman ruling the country. Maybe in Europe but here in north America I don't know about it happening anytime soon . North Americas are too back ward, we need more freedoms here in Canada and the U.S..You may think that we are free but in fact we are not. Communist country's have more freedoms that us. Take a look around an see how the government controls your life.

Of course women can be great leaders. Take Margaret Thatcher, Victoria, Elisabeth I, even Catherine the great of Russia who was an awful german hag and murderer but made Russia great nevertheless.
