Hi, I was wondering, is it possible for someone to buy a piece land in the USA, UK etc. but have it separate from their law system? For example, if law in your country prohibited you from eating watermelon, would it be possible to buy land in that country and make it so people in the land you own are allowed to eat watermelon? Crude example I know, lol. Cheers guys

Dan

Am I the only person who knew exactly what Donald Rumsfeld (not-to-be-missed former US Sec. of State for Defence /Defense) meant when he famously talked about "known knowns, known unknowns and unknown unknowns"??? Which category does his surprise resignation fall into???

I think he should concede and let the dems hang themselves quickly with their policies. The republican closet is now clean and can be restocked with real statesmen. Seriously Pelsoi really knows what fly over americans want.

It has been two months since my fiance had her interview at the consulate, all the paperwork was in order, and then she was told to wait. I have no idea what for. It would be easier to have her fly to Mexico and simply walk across the border than to try to do everything legally, and one heck of a lot cheaper too!

Making Pelosi speaker is going to hand the 08 elections right back to the Republicans!
Pelosi is from California,
The state with the worst budget deficit in the nation, and shes going to fix the Federal budget?
The worst immigration problem in the Country is California, and she's going to fix the Federal Immigration policy?
She is a banner waving member of the ACLU, how do you suppose her beliefs are going to go over with Rural southern and MidWest voters.
Cost of living in California is the highest in the country, real estate costs the highest in the country, Drug abuse, unemployment, Welfare all higher than most of the country. She is for the working man? Why didn't the Democrats find a moderate Democrat that would not have alienated most of America

A few years ago, the police siezed a number of items of computer equipment in a fraud investigation. However, they found no evidence and I was never charged with anything. I recieved a letter saying that all investigations were now complete and I had no crimes to answer for (as I expected).

However, they lost the equipment, totalling about £1000. The officer dealing with the case has told me that I should recieve compensation and he would fight in my corner.

How will they compensate me? Obviously they will pay for the equipment but what about the inconvienience?

The police force in question is Leicestershire Constabulary.

I am unable to speak to the officer as he is currently on extended leave for a month!

We are going through hell with attorneys from Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. In May we refinanced with another company and paid the payoff amount. Several weeks later Wells Fargo' attys refused the check stating it wasn't enough ($4,300). HUH?!!!!! Our closing atty went to court saying they can't do that. Judge disagreed. (What the hell was he thinking) He ordered wells fargo to accept the check, stop interest from accruing, and work with us to form a payment plan. Attorneys Wouldn't talk to us. Throughout this they are foreclosing on us. This check is still outstanding!!! I called Wells Fargo directly and they said well gee, you were only short $1,090.12. We offered to pay that to clear this up. He said that sounds reasonable to me and a supervisor. Check back on Monday to verify.

I've since been calling everyday (1.5 weeks) with no one returning our calls.

It will cost more to pay an atty than pay the debt. Meantime we are paying our new mortgage every month.

HELP???!!!

Congress. I know that he now calls himself an "independent." The Democrats may be shocked the way he votes from now on. After all, the Democrats in his home state rejected him. Do you think that he will -- for all practical purposes, continue to be a Democrat?

I keep on seeing whole the world is viewing our election as some type of major change in politics.

the truth is that there is really very little difference between our two parties. I always think of it as voting for the lesser of two evils.

Do they think that we are just going to pull right out of Iraq at this point. It will be a slow withdrawal probably spanning a decade (atleast)

This morning i have received so far 8 phone calls from a stranger telling me the he loves me, that i am so pretty and that i am very kind. I asked him where he knows me from and who he was. He then asked me what nationality i was so i told him i was a black person. He then went nuts, swore at me and said some very abusive things about black people. I told him that not all people are bad and he swore at me. Since then i have reported him to the police and he has stopped phoning. The police were very helpful, i just wanted this guy to know that i wont take rubbish of that kind. Would you have reported him as well, i also gave them his phone-number .

Honest opinions here. I am all for the right to free speech, but hasn't she spoken enough?? She is beating a dead horse as far as I am concerned. I am sorry her son died for what he believed in, but using his death as her platform, Isn't that just sad???
