Map- all these problems existed before Arnold took over. That's why the referendum that caused the special election that got him into office. And I wouldn't want him either

Sorry so many seem offended, but most moderate Democrats cannot stand the ACLU either. I am not a Republican and I am all for arresting the head of any company that hires illegal aliesns. And Welfare needs to be workfare. Do your research. Most welfare recipenents are long term. Not people hitting a rough spot. They are lifers

I could care less if she is female. Hillary would have been a better choice. I'm talking about the adverse reaction to the Democratic party. I'm disappointed because I think they are throwing away a great oppertunity

Pelosi is an American abomination, an uncouth, raucous politician unfit to lead. She belongs in prison. Democrats adore her. Role model?

Making Pelosi speaker is going to hand the 08 elections right back to the Republicans!
Pelosi is from California,
The state with the worst budget deficit in the nation, and shes going to fix the Federal budget?
- She's not in the state government.
The worst immigration problem in the Country is California, and she's going to fix the Federal Immigration policy?
- Again, talk to Ahhnuld.
She is a banner waving member of the ACLU, how do you suppose her beliefs are going to go over with Rural southern and Midwest voters.
- The ACLU is working to protect constitutional rights. It's not her fault if people buy into the right wing propaganda about that organization.
Cost of living in California is the highest in the country, real estate costs the highest in the country, Drug abuse, unemployment, Welfare all higher than most of the country. She is for the working man? Why didn't the Democrats find a moderate Democrat that would not have alienated most of America
- All of these are state issues, a state with a republican governor.

Not officially, but they probably will. There is NOTHING wrong with the ACLU. They protect minority rights, a necessary funtion in a majority-rule democracy!

Sure California has problems, but one could blame your beloved Arnold for not helping as well! Real estate costs are high there because PEOPLE WANT TO LIVE THERE! Oh and Welfare is help for working people who had a tough break -- mostly due to sky-rocketing health care prices!

California is doing better than most states! Do a little research instead of pointing fingers!

It is not fair to label her as being an extreme leftist simply because she's a female, and from California. Your typical Californian might not be a bible thumping, social conservative, but they are a state that just overwhelmingly reelected a Republican governor.

And, let's not talk about "liberals" and the "federal budget. " Anyone who has paid attention to Politics over the past 6 years knows that Republicans have controlled the legislative, and Executive Branches of Government, and our country has had several record budget deficits. And, don't forget, Ronald Reagans lasting legacy of running up the National Debt.

So what if she supports the ACLU? The ACLU might be considered radical and leftist, but had it not been for "radicals" and "leftists", we'd still be living in a segregated society.

Actually, it may not be that bad of a move.
She is a Liberal Dem. But if you look at the polls and see what democrats made it into office you will see a majority of moderate, and conversative democrats.

By, placing Pelosi into the Speaker role. It might just allow for more checks and balances to occur as even though she is left of the norm. She still has to ally with others to get things done.

So, we might just see, the house, get something done. the right way.

LOL--Map--good one u get a check in the happy column

Whats wrong with the ACLU? You don't believe that those without money should have equal access to the courts? Even the ACLU doesn't agree with some things they take to court, just like a defense attorney can't be denied someone because you don't like what he is charged for!

I think you need to find out a little about something before you open it! As far as I am concerned, I only see a shoe!

Her State budget isn't her fault, and her state has one of the largest economy's in the world!

We have an immigration issue because of you Paleo Republicans and Republican split! One side wants them here so they can use them for slave labor, the other wants them out irregardless of the consequences!

If you want them out ARREST THEIR REPUBLICAN EMPLOYERS!!! They are all violating the law! What does Pelosi have to do with that?

The cost of living in California is due to many reasons! Primarily it is due to stupid referendum voters who have added billions to their budget, which they can't slice off! I hate referendums as they are not the type of government rule that this countries forefathers would have wanted!

You don't know what her beliefs are as your question clearly points out!

Lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas. The Democrats think that Pelosi is an asset. Time will tell. They so much as try to raise taxes and we'll see what happens in the House in 2008.

They haven't made her Speaker yet. It is presumed she will be because she is the current House minority leader. The House actually has to vote on who the Speaker is when the new Congress convenes on January 3.

it somewhat is irrelevant who in Congress replaced into or wasn't instructed and John Boehner is familiar with it. there is basically one factor at subject. Waterboarding is torture. there is not any gray section. there is not any room for communicate. it somewhat is torture and a war crime, as defined via US regulation, worldwide treaties, and the Geneva Conventions.
