What about abortion and stem cell research? Aren't conservatives completely emotional about these topics? Where's the logic in not using embryos from fertility clinics (that won't be implanted anyway) to try to find a cure for other diseases?

And how about evolution? Where's the logic in rejecting the logically reasoned conclusions of 150 years of research by professional scientists in favor of pure faith?

And how about global warming? Where's the logic and reason in rejecting the opinions of 98% of environmental scientists opinions in favor of big business's opinion?

Please fill me in. And try not to be emotional (by calling me insults), be logical.

I am really sick of all the stupidy around the world and how the govt mistreats its citizens so I have come to the conclusion that the only way to escape it is to start a new country built on an artificial island in international waters. It would have complete democracy so that its citizens could directly vote on the laws and the govt would not be able to do anything without the citizens approval. To keep the country as safe and smart as possible it would screen all citizens wishing to immigrate. A cornerstone would be logic and common sense so everything could be rethought from scratch instead of taking from tradition. Taxes would be much lower than any other country because the govt would be kept in check of its spending, there would not be a offensive military force to sustain and there would not be people leaching of society. Do you think that this possible and what hurdles would the citizens face during the setup of this country? (Only serious answers please.)

As is the case with this late term/partial birth abortion hearing. I know in criminal court unless substantial evidence has changed, you can not retry a person after a verdict. Why then can the supreme court re-hear a case they've already decided? doesn't that negate their entire purpose?

and please, this question is not about abortion... not interested in abortion opinions right now.

I'm talking to the die hard conservatives and republicans. offer up some evidence that the Democrats will run this country any worse than your "Grand ol' Party".

and at the start, I must remind everyone that the Republicans have been in control (of the House and Senate) for the last 12 years. Do you think they've run it smoothly and capably?

Also, I am neither Republican or Democrat. I'm just a firm beiliever that when someone is doing a crappy job, they need to be replaced.

That him and his corrupt administration would be investigated about lying to the American people about starting the war in Iraq? OR did he just want the Republicans to keep control?

A property developer is threatening to sue me over an article placed on my blog and my MP has written to him asking him to back down. I have avoided publicising this; publication of legal letters is a breach of confidence and you can be sued for that. However, if I publicise my MP’s intervention (which will require me to disclose some details of the developer’s claim), will I have left myself open to being sued for breach of confidence?
