I am a student in Ontario, Canada. I am doing a research project on comm centers. I would like to add some information regarding outsourcing emergency services to another country. Pros' and cons'.

I know it sounds unbelievable to think a 911 service could be outsourced. I didn't think it was possible but I was sent a reply from a user that said they worked for one. I want to know if this was a joke or it this exisits. How is that posible.? I understand it is unamagineable but please don't respond unless you are the person that responded to my first question about combined comm centres. Is this for real or what?

I cannot imagine any US jurisdiction even contemplating such a situation. The local tax payers would not accept it.
Just from a logistics standpoint, call takers and dispatchers need to be familiar with the geography served by their call center. Many law enforcement agencies have the electronic equivalent of a GPS for the officers' locations. How could somebody in another country effectively dispatch and manage officers?
