No it is NOT. Only ONE fact is evident: Corrupt police, prosecutors, and judiciary have created a situation whereby one out of ten death row inmates are being found innocent and realeased after follow up DNA testing. This is such a national embarrassment the President even commented on it in his 2005 State of the Union address.

If 10% of the death row inmates are being found innocent with all their appealate protections, how many inmates convicted of lesser felonies are really innocent? About 35% is an educated guess.

REAL bad odds in what we are told is a free country.

No it is not reliable

We should not be executing anybody until this country is 100% sure no innocents are executed. As that will not happen into the far distant future we should not be executing anybody.

Imagine the horror of being accused of a capitol offense and being innocent of the charge.

It does happen.

1. No system is perfect.
2. The ratio of innocents being executed is very small.
3. With new breakthroughs in forensic science that number will become even smaller.
