It has been two months since my fiance had her interview at the consulate, all the paperwork was in order, and then she was told to wait. I have no idea what for. It would be easier to have her fly to Mexico and simply walk across the border than to try to do everything legally, and one heck of a lot cheaper too!

It has been two months since my fiance had her interview at the consulate in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, all the paperwork was in order and she was told that, then she was told to wait. I have no idea what for. It would be easier to have her fly to Mexico and simply walk across the border than to try to do everything legally, and one heck of a lot cheaper too!

There are are FBI checks during the application process with Homeland security (USCIS), I have talked to my senators (The Republican one will not answer me) and my congressman. I have called Washington and talked to incredibly rude people who did not want to do their job, talked to their friends, chewed gum, and coughed directly into the phone. I wish I could vote them out of office!

Why don't you just go to wherever she is and get married there? If she's married to you, I would think it would be easier to get her Visa.

Then, when you get her back to whatever Country you're from (You didn't specify...), have a "real" wedding.

I agree 100 % wish i could just deny their existence most consular officer i have met are courteous and kind and go out of their way to be of help, while some are plain rude and morons and don't know **** about their job other then to have you waste time and money, example i am married in china 16 months filed the I130 now its missing i have the receipts number and other identifiers sorry they said call DHS call USCIS well all u get are recorder messages punch this for that press this for that assholes our tax money wasted no customer service and if you are out of country GOD help you Ha yes then when you do get someone they tell you to fax the information or pre pay for the phone call 7 USD for 12 min. now put yourself in my shoes and see if you get pissed or not too bad i cant smuggle my wife out because i have tried everything the legit way to no avail, yes i tried the political arm bs there too serving my country for 25 in the Marines navy cross award ,2 bronze stars 3 purple hearts, presidential commendation total of 21 campaigns ribbons now i cant get my wife home because of the bureaucratic bullshit Semper Fi and good luck

You need to find out why your fiancee's visa is being delayed. Is the Consulate waiting on a FBI check? In a lot of cases these days visa issuance is being delayed due to FBI checks not yet completed at time of interview, but most consulates will give a reason as to why the visa is not being issued immediately.

You should contact your congressman and them enquire why your fiancee has not yet received her visa.

Unfortunately, these things take time. Please be patient and do everything legally.I had a friend who moved from India many years ago.He became a citizen shortly after that, but his wife is still fighting the red tape because they lied and tried to do things the wrong way.Be patient,it'll work out.
