While both sides are giddy, and rightfully so, the reality of the matter is starting to hit home with the Democrats. In the house they have a few moderates and a cabal of conservatives who cannot be predicted to vote along party lines because to do so would mean having to answer in two years. In the senate the margin is even narrower.

Their supporters. I think the leaders might be right at the moment but they know that it's not going to be a slam dunk. They might have a majority but it's still a slim one. Unless they get a Democrat in the White House in 2008, they are in for a very long haul.

"I've won a lot of political capital here, and I'm gonna start spending it." Bush in '04. How can anyone talk of "drunk with power" after the display we are living through now?

This administration is the most arrogant, secretive, dismissive of public opinoin and inflexible in history.

Evidently the illusive "political capital" was not as was not as great as Dubya thought, and clearly the fund has been entirely exhausted.

Just a question, but how could he have been so deluded as to imagine he had any capital whatsoever in '04 when he had just lost the popular vote? He really is a remarkably unintelligent and imperceptive little fellow after all, isn't he?

Donald Rumsfeld is enjoying his hang-over now. President Bush took a little too long in having help make that decision (even though HE wants to be known as a DECIDER). Poor lame duck President Bush will NOW have to be accountable to the NEW LEADERS helping to balance his power. It is a good thing though, sharing power. Only NOT in Iraq. BRING HOME OUR TROOPS! Enough is enough already.

The Republicans (of which I am) will now have to work together (sharing) responsibilities and not just running off doing their own short-term thinking drills. The American people are NOT stupid, and we have decided for CHANGE. It will be a blessing...JUST WATCH! When power is abused, it has to be dealt with in a fair manner. The American system just received what the American public has decided. WE NEED CHANGE, and now we are going to be getting it. Get it?
