We have an 8 year old chinese water dragon and all his his life he has this thing about throwing himself at the glass in a bid for freedom. I have been told water dragons can't see glass (not sure the actuall truth in that). Now the cut on his mouth is getting really bad and i can take him to the vet but he just keeps doing it. Maybe there is something i can put on the glass? HELP?!?!?!

We were given a juvenile long neck turtle about 6 weeks ago. I was unhappy about it but the kids were sooo excited. I went to the pet shop and bought all the stuff it apparently needed, ie. tank with platform for turtles, filter system, uv lamp, basking lamp, heater, calcium blocks, decorations and food and it cost me about $600.00 all up. I hand fed the little thing daily and read several books on turtles. The water was cleaned regularly and ph levels checked also. The kids were never allowed to handle him.
I came home from work the other day to find him dead. To be honest i was quite devastated as were the kids. I dont know what i did wrong and i feel incredibly guilty because he died. Did i do something wrong or did i not do something that i should have? The kids want to get another, but im not so sure.

When you buy a reptile, I bought a snake, you get a book which you need to fill in and you send back in some time soon.

If you still have the reptile, do you still need to send it in?

Thanks

Am I wrong for not allowing him to hibernate? Can this hurt him? I.E. decrease in life span, growth or development issues with carapace?

Raised him since he was the size of a silver dollar.
He resides in a 125 Gallon Tank, and he seems 'happy.' Proper Filtration, UVB & UVA Lighting, a Sun/Basking area. Mixture of vegetation and meat ( unseasoned cooked-chicken, pork, steak) as well as pellet food is provided. The occasional live fish or crickets.

I am personaly not. I actually LOVE them, but I'm doing a speach on why you shouldn't fear them and I need to know why people fear them in the first place.
Thanks

So, we have 2 as class pets in science and the female is "pregnant." We think they might be from the same clutch, but we want to save the babies if we can. We haven't bought an incubator yet, and don't want to if the babies aren't going to live. Suggestions?
