How do I give PROPER care for my pet tortoise???

I have a science project to work on... and I am supposed to give my pet tortoise PROPER CARE... How do I do that?

In order to know what the proper care for your tortoise would be, you need to know what species it is. Some tortoises are from tropical rainforests, some from eastern Europe, etc. - each with different diets, temperature and humidity needs, space requirements, hibernation habits, etc. A tortoise of one species will thrive under a certain style of care, while that same care will kill a tortoise of a different species.

The most important thing to do is to determine what kind of tortoise you have. Once you know that, you can use a search engine like Google.com to find care sheets for that species, or you can post on here again with the additional information.
