iv had my "tiny" for about 2 years now. he/she (i dont know how to tell which one it is) is only about 5 inches. im getting a much bigger tank this week, 80+ gallons 5 feet long 2 seperate basking areas, and want to get tiny a companion. i DO NOT want babies so should i get the same sex? should i get one the same size or smaller/larger? how can i tell which sex tiny is in the 1st place? the tank should be big enough to keep aggression from happening... but is there a certain way i need to introduce them or should they naturally just mingle with each other? thanx!

Ok I am thinking of getting a pet frog. But what I need for YOU to tell ME is...

-how much everything will cost
-what is the best kind of frog to keep as a pet
-what will I need
-do they require alot of maintenance

Thank you and please do not post things like...

"I have no clue."
"Why do you want a frog anyway?"
"I don't know."

...or any other ridiculous things. If you DO say these things I WILL report you. I am looking for REAL answers from experienced pet owners.

Thank you.

I am pretty sure I found an Alligator Lizard crawling around my kitchen this morning. He has Amber colored eyes, and I think he is still a baby. How do you take care of these animals? I would like to keep him for a pet. Also, are these lizards native to Sacramento (CA) County?

He appears to lie around all day in his enclosure and even when he's awake, his eyes are almost always closed. He seems to be drinking a lot of water but not eating his food (dehydrated mealworms and crickets). The skin on his tail looks wrinkled as welI. I am wondering if there is something seriously wrong with him. Any answers would be appreciated.

Trap them humanely? There's tons here where I live and they make the house smell terribly, I'm now fed up. Most traps have glue, which I find inhumane, and not even a very enthusiastic cat can keep up....alternatives? Anyone?

It was doing fine, and then I transported it home for spring break and it hasn't eaten since. Could it be because of the stress? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to feed him to get his appetite back? I've tried wax worms and thats not working...PLEASE HELP!

I've just bought a new 8 month old Uromastyx today & I've got a few questions..
1. Since he's come home, he's scratched like mad at the side of the vivarium.. Why's this? 2. Do I turn EVERYTHING off at night (lights, heat pad etc.) or do I leave anything on? 3. How often should he have bugs in his diet? 4. There's a brand new UV lamp in the vivarium, but it keeps turning off on it's own when you touch around the tank, and you have to fiddle with it to get it to turn back on.. Why's this?!?! Thankyou :) x

I was browsing one day on the web and stumbled upon a site that gave step by step instructions with illustrations on how to build your own basking platforms/climbing surfaces. I just purchased a larger home for my beardie and can't find the site!!! The materials used were foam board(?),some type of glue, paint, appoxy(???). Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please help me. I bought a 65 gallon reptarrium and need to give Scrappy plenty to climb on etc...

somewhat embaracing but hey. I have ants coming into my house. I do not want to spray for them even outside as they do have access to some of my open air cages and I do not want to poison my herps. its like they appeared overnight and the things are everywhere little tiny black ones. and they don't pay rent or their share of the utilities. am I going to be restricted to sticky traps or is there another way? I do not mind paying an exterminator but I do not know what they could use that will not harm my herps. any thoughts? I keep a clean house so don't go there.
