I rescued an Iguana that was going to be ditched. He is quite unruly, and because of his size (about 15" without the tail) he is hard to handle. What is the best way to tame him and get him to be calm? Thanks

the lizard is just under 2 inches long, has velvet like skin that is a mixture of pink, brown and cream stripe patterns dark eyes a thick tail that only gets thinner near the end.
this lizard was found in south east south australia on leafy ground trying to identify it as i know many types of lizards but ive never seen one like this before.
its a similar length and build of the velvet spotted geckos i used to find at my grandparents farm when i was a kid.
any help would be apreciated.

so originally i was thinking about getting a bearded dragon because i heard they where really smart and fun to play with and handle, and that i could take it out and sit it on my lap while watching tv and it would all be good.

How ever i came across a leopard gecko and someone said that is good as well because they do not grow to be like 2 feet long. anyone have any suggestions or background info or good things to say and what not. Looking to get one tomorrow probably. Will it be as friendly and fun to have?

This is a beautiful animal, (but I also have a very small pug that was just given to me as a present.) It is extremely inexpensive to keep, I spend approximately $2.25 every 2 weeks for a feeder white mouse plus water...that's it.

My baby (7 weeks?) ball, Dante, whom I have had for about 2 weeks, makes very quiet noises when he breathes, It's so quiet I have to turn off all noise and hold him up to my ear to hear it.
The sound is like a small pop, like something being opened and it isnt very frequent, i looked up all the typical RI signs, he isn't bubbling at the mouth or anything. To note again the sound is so faint, I don't know what to think. Dante is very active it doesn't seem like he is having any difficulties breathing, I'm just worried.... Can someone please give me imput.

I was wondering how important the red night light is to have in. My apartment is kept around 80C constant, and I had read somewhere that snakes like a difference between the day time and the nighttime so that their body could regulate between the two. With the daylight in it stays at 82-84C and with the night light it goes down to 80-81C. But if I don't turn on any light, it seems to hit 79 or even 78 sometimes, depending on heating in my apartment. I was wondering if this would have any effects on the corn snake, although he's acting normally now and has been without the night light for 2 months now.

Thanks in advance!

We just found this snake and can't figure out what it is, exactly. What's throwing us off is the distinctive red stripe down this snake's back. I haven't been able to find anything like that anywhere online.

Any ideas? There's a picture at:

I have 2 Western Fence Lizards (or locally known as Sacramento Blue-Bellies) that I've had for quite a while. One is really fat. I don't know if it is because of the amount of crickets they eat, or if she has eggs. Is there any way to know? I have no idea of the sex of either one.

today i tried to breed my two leopard geckos. the male went over to the female and started to like sniff her and stuff. the female stayed pretty calm through all of this. but when the male got on top of her she freaked out and somehow the male grabbed onto her skin above her eye with his mouth. the female tried to get away from him but he kept biting her. finally he left her alone and there is this gigantic cut above her eye. like seriously, you can even see a tiny bit of the top of her eyeball. shes not like bleeding or anything, but should i get her some help or let it heal?
