When the weather is nice, I go in the back yard, pick up large rocks, and gather up pill bugs (roly-polys) for my firebellies. They like them! They will also eat earthworms, but make sure they're not too big, or the darned things will just crawl back out of the toad's mouth faster than he can swallow. Seen it happen. Also, if the worms are too wet, the toad can't grab it well. If they're covered in dirt, the toad will have trouble swallowing. So make sure the worms are clean but dry. Also, this is very important, don't gather any bugs for the toads in a yard that has had chemicals sprayed on it!

You can feed your fire bellies feeder fish along with crickets...
You can try to get them some blood worms(frozen not freeze dried), but most of the time, fire bellies will only go for the moving fish and crickets...
Like someone said befor you can try worms...I wouldn't go for wax worms, they aren't too healthy for them, but try some meal worms...
If you're on a bidget though, all of thoes foods tend to be more exspensive than crickets(at least they are here)....Thoes are just some alternate foods, your cheapest food is going to be the crickets...
{PLEASE!!! DO NOT CATCH CRICKETS AND FEED THEM TO YOUR FIRE BELLIES!!!! This is very dangerous...crickets from your yard can cary many different bacterias and pesticided that fire bellies are very sensitive to, that could really hurt or even kill your little ones...Please Just go get some crickets, Im sure you can come up with a few bucks to do it...}

hearth-bellied toads have a voracious urge for food. stay crickets ought to make up maximum persons of their weight loss software, with different food products such as wax worms, earth worms, black worms, and small silkworms being substituted for crickets each few feedings. Few toads understand non-residing food, so all food products would desire to be alive whilst provided. A feeding time table of two to 6 food products in step with toad each 2 to 3 days often works properly. Juvenile animals ought to be fed on an usual basis in small parts. It’s significant that any uneaten food or ineffective feeders are removed from the cage as quickly as they are observed. person hearth-bellied toads ought to have their food lined with extreme high quality reptile diet and mineral supplements as quickly as each 2 to 4 feedings. Juveniles ought to have their food supplemented as many times as each feeding. sturdy success!

I feed mine guppies. I can get a dozen feeder guppies for $1.00. i just throw them in the water and let them swim until eaten. Crickets should be the main source of food though no matter what.
