Sure can. Not eat it but definitely can kill it. I have a 10 year old 5 ft long female ball python and 2 cats. I took her to a library class on snakes to give a lecture on them. When I got home I decided to play with her a little longer. Well 1 of my cats wanted to and took a swipe at her. She had a coil around his front legs and a coil around his neck. He was powerless posed no threat at all, and if I wasn't there, she would have killed him. But mind you the snake was 5 ft long and would have to be at least 3-4 ft long to have a chance, if not he will be catfood. It's been a year and a half now and the cat still avoids the snake pit. I call it a snake pit because of the amount of reptiles in the room. He doesn't even mess with the little snakes. And this was strictly a defensive act, she was provoked to attack by the cat and he learned quick not to mess with her again.

obviously size and strength being the only consideration then yes a ball python could in fact kill a cat. But a cat with legs would probably turn the tables. I am an avid snake fan, been keeping and breeding for 20+ years. But fact of the matter is cats are notorious snake killers to longer faster snakes then a ball python. so to answer your question.... yes a ball python could kill a cat, but probably would never be given the opportunity to do it.

It is possible for it to kill a cat but not eat it. cats are too big unless they are little kittens.. then the cat will probably be a meal. I think the ball python would win.. but cats can kill the ball python also.

P.S. My cousin had a ball python that almost killed his 3 year old cat. He took the snake off the cat before it died.

An adult female ball python only reaches a length of about 5 ft and a weight of about 5 lbs, This is NOT big enough to eat an adult cat. However, this snake is a constrictor, therfore it could presumable kill an adult cat. This unlikely, but it is possible.
Here in Florida, a man was arrested for feeding 3 of a litter of 6 kittens to an adult Burmese. He was doing this to torture his girlfriend. She called the police and he was arrested before the snake could consume all 6. He was charged with 7 counts of animal cruelty (one count for the snake). Unfortunately, the snake was euthanized. It was an innocent victim, but animal control did not want to risk it identifieng cats as prey. He has yet to be sentenced, but I hope they throw the book at him!!!!

Yes, it is possible but not likely. Ball Pythons are not aggressive( like a Burmese Python or a Reticulated Python) and would probably go defensive instead of thinking of food, whereas, a Burm or Retic would provide the cat with a "snake skin coat".

yes a full grown ball (3.5-5 ft) could kill a cat, although the snake would definitely take some damage from the claws. i honestly dont know if its happened or not but they DO have the capability to kill a cat. I do not believe it could eat it though.
