mice or minnows. The mice you would feed are bred to die- if your guy doesn't eat them, something else will. You could always buy frozen mice (make sure they are completely room temp before feeding). then you do not have to do the killing or see the toad do it.

I am a miserable failure at trying to understand why you should feel bad about feeding other animals or reptiles mice?

the mice are bred as feeder mice u should have thought about it before u got him but u can feed him crickets meal worms flying ants and fish like minnows or guppies

Your horned frog will eat almost anything that moves and if it does not like the taste, will spit it out.
