I think you should get a bearded dragon i have one my self. They are boss pets especially when you watch them eat locusts and crickets and meal worms for treats. When you get them out of their cage make sure there is nothing sharp and the let it run around on the floor it wont go under chairs or any think. When you are watching TV the can sit on your lap but even better the bearded dragons can cling on to your shirt for hours but don't keep them out to long in the winter.Make sure you have a look and pick the best bearded dragon one that will eat fruit and veg as well as live bate.I wont go on any longer but i strongly suggest that you get a bearded dragon they are brilliant if you have any questions please contact me

It all depends what you trully expect with your reptile. I know you have already mentioned one that will chill with you while you watch TV but you also mentioned that you want one that will play with you. I can only say out of experience that I only know how Iguanas are. If you get an Iguana when its a baby and you hold it and take care of it everyday it will be very friendly and relaxed. You can even go as far as potty training them so you can let them just run around.

Pros:
If treated right and given much attention, Iguana's are very easy to tame. It only takes them about 2 to 3 months to be comfortable with you. They have a very simple diet of assorted vegetables (there are also some vegetables and fruits that you can't give them either). They are easily potty trained. They will also stay tame if you continue giving them the same attention that you did at the start. They can live from 12 - 27 years old.

Cons:
They grow very big and pretty quick. Once matured their body is about two feet in length and the tail is about 4 (assuming it hasn't been broken off). Their tails and nails are their primary defense. If you spook them then chances are they will take a swing at you. Their nails must also be trimmed atleast once every week and a half when they become over a year old. When they go to the bathroom it is very messy. They all do a funny little walk before they go, which gives you some warning, but is still a pain when they just let a random one loose. They also require special attention for their first two years because this is when they are most capable of getting sick or getting bone diseases from lack of calcium.

Overall, I've had iguanas my whole life and will probably stick with them as my primary pet for the rest of my life. If the cons are to much for you then I would suggest going with a bearded dragon or a blue tongue skink. Both are carnivours though so you would have to get used to watching them eat other animals. I hope this helped you alittle bit, if not then I apologize for the lengthy answer. Take care and goodluck.

HI
got one for my son and he kept getting sick from salmonella so make sure you wash youre hands after holding him. The turnip tail is a cute laid back lizard but I just sold a savannah monitor that got to 8 pounds and he started getting mean and I wished I had gotten something mellow like chameleons or the cute turnip tail.

all i know is that frogs and small lizards like the bahaman anole have sensitive skin or run too quickly if you put them on the ground. i would say a snake is good for you.

read up on them
our geckos were anti social and buying the crickets to feed them really annoyed me (crickets really stink)
then it was a feeding frenzy and that was also more gross
