We have an 8 year old chinese water dragon and all his his life he has this thing about throwing himself at the glass in a bid for freedom. I have been told water dragons can't see glass (not sure the actuall truth in that). Now the cut on his mouth is getting really bad and i can take him to the vet but he just keeps doing it. Maybe there is something i can put on the glass? HELP?!?!?!

maybe it thinks that the tank is too small.. why not trying to buy a new, bigger one for it?
or if you say it cant see glass, you can wrap paper around the glass so that it can see? hope it helps=]

i heard you can get a tinted film you can put on the glass that will make the glass 'visable' to the water dragon but you can still see in. only thing is i can see this mite be a bit confusing for the dragon as it may be confusing that they can still see out. could be worth a try.

My dragon is opnly 10 months old and hope he/she will stop the scrabbling thing soon and get used to the glass so i dont have the same problem in the future

Try that site. Its weird but it tells you what they need and such. Getting posters to stick around is a good idea but make sure you can still see him - that is the problem. Try taking him out more when he starts doing it and putting him somewhere where there is no glass for part of the day - a paddling pool???

Tape up pictures around the tank. I have never owned a dragon but I sure wish I did. I would think that was so cool to watch them.

in my science clas we had one but it died because my teacher wouldnt buy crickets......but maybe get a different cage.......any pet store could sell you a mesh cage that the dragon can see the sides of, and it wont be as hard as the glass....gosh, you think it would have learned by now

He probably needs a much bigger cage and you should take him to a vet to check his wound so it doesn't worsen.
