she should start with a gecko or a turtel. couse they are good beginer reptiles. and iguana is a bad idea. they are soooooo much work. they are cheap but to feed them in expensive, they are difficult to train and in two years they grow to be 6ft long the size of a small dog. and they have very special housing needs. good luck

Russian tortoise are great starter pets, but if she's looking more along the lines of a lizzard I'd say go with a spotted gecko.
If she wan'ts a frog, she should go with a pacman.

a ball python or corn snake. they are easy to take care of, cheap and cool. They usually sell for $40 each and their enclosure is about $60 to $100 total with the heaters, water, other stuff, accessories, etc.

Ball Python if snake, Leopard Gecko if lizard. Both are relatively inexpensive, easy to care for, and have good temperaments.
