I am personaly not. I actually LOVE them, but I'm doing a speach on why you shouldn't fear them and I need to know why people fear them in the first place.

Nope, hubby has 4 ball pythons. Even though one has bitten me I do not fear them.

Oooh just answering this question keeps putting pictures of them in my mind. But Its not so much that I'm scared of them, I just hate how they look and feel. They are actually pretty interesting. I held one once and the texture wasn't slimy just dry but the fact that it was so squishy and "breakable" made me feel like I was going to make it suffocate. They seem so sensitive, like if you make one wrong move...BAM, they bite. I don't think that would really happen but something about how different looking they are and how odd they're method of movement is (how many creatures slither?) has something to do with it. Ones in captive or a pet one doesn't bother me because I know it won't wrap around me, but wild ones by the river, etc give me goosebumps! I know they are not going to attack me because they slither away, but I think the feeling that they are so vulnerable for you to step on and then be bitten is the freaky part! Also, I think movies like Anaconda and things persuade us to fear them. Hope this helped out and good luck with your report!

I hate snakes. I'm deathly afraid of them. Sometimes I even have nightmares about snakes chasing me.
I don't know why. I've never had a bad experience with a snake, they just freak me out. I get goose bumps when I see snakes.
I wish I could give you a good reason, but really I can't. I guess it's just a phobia like being scared of heights or claustrophobic. I love animals of all kinds, except snakes. Spiders, lizards, bugs of any kind don't bother me, but snakes I just can't explain.

You fear what you don't know and what's unfamiliar to you. I've kept and bread so many kinds of snakes from pythons to venomous ones, (started out with boa constrictor, nice and friendly), it was one day of not being all too sure then I was fine. I just stayed away from really large snakes of over 6 foot, since a python that size can kill you.

I have 4 snakes and I sometimes take them to schools and educate children about them. I find most fear is a learned reaction, generally learned from their parents. 95% of young children absolutely love my snakes. Its always the parents that are afraid. My boyfriend was scared of snakes before he met me. He helped me rescue a 5 foot abandoned redtail boa that was near death. Now that snake is his baby and he loves snakes.

I love snakes! Basically people fear them in an instinctive manner, we see a serpent and our brains think venom instantly.
Also humans tend to be afraid of anything that doesn't have 2-4 legs and fur.

my hubby and i have 3 snakes and are gettin at least two more very soon for breeders and more for pets as well... but before i met him i was afraid of snakes... i thought they would only hurt me if i was around them but then we caught some fed them and let them loose again (before we bought ours) now i adore snakes just like he does...they are very beautiful...but i learned to fear snakes from other people (like my parents when i was young) now my mom will hold the little ones but she still fears wild or big snakes

I love snakes. All reptiles are gorgeous, i couldn't go with out them. my partner hit the nail on the head... wer'e addicts.
But i can tell u why people are scared of them. people fear what they don't know. i used to be **** scared of them, i never had any reason to be, i'd never had a bad experience with one or been bitten. i had never even seen one in real life. then i met my partner n he's a breeder, i just couldn't get enough.
N all those people who hate them, take the time to get to know the creature.
They are more scared of us than u are of them.

I'm not afraid of them as long as they are not poisonous, dangerous, and they won't bite me. I am actually fascinated with snakes. We have a ditch by the side of our house and we usually catch garder snakes and then release them... it was fun. I actually love all reptiles as long as they are not dangerous, poisonous, and won't bite me. Sometimes I am scared of them becuase of too many scary movies.

In a bad way, snakes can be kind of scary but in a good way they're pretty kool. like if you mean them no harm they dont do anthing to you. of if they feel threatened, thats when they start attacking and they start getting kind of wild.
in my opinion i think snake are kind of KOOL and i am not afraid of them.
