if u want to do that heres a couple of options;
1. buy a big enough oscar to put in there
2. buy a smaller oscar and put in a tank next to the turtle tank that way ur turtle can get used to it somewhat.
my turtles parents lived in captivity almost there whole lives. they have lived with many fish (oscars included) and have never really taken a bite at them. they much prefer to get there food at the top of water where oxygen get in with the food. also for turtles they are lazy. they dont really like having to work for their food. flakes are good enough. lol.

I would start with less expensive fish. Turtles eat fish if not otherwise well fed. Put some goldfish in first to test the waters. Try to get them the same size as the oscar your thinking of introducing.
I have two red eared sliders in a 55gal tank. They both share the tank with two angels, two dwarf gouramis, two large goldfish and a handful of feeder fish the turtles never ate. Sometimes the turtle will take a nip from a fin, but generally they just want the frozen krill, brine shrimp, and blood worms they get fed.
So in conclusion, try it out, but don't throw away money. be sure to test with cheap fish.

umm i wouldnt cuz oscars are pretty mean them selves and the oscar might try to snap at the turtle or the other way around since RES do eat goldfishes umm i would advise u in getting make a bunch of tiny or medium goldfish and just let them swim in there and then some would get eaten but at least the tank would be a little bit livelier or put some rocks in there and plants or even just putting some rocks and plants in the tank and then buying some of the feeder goldfishes which are like 12cents at petsmart and then just keep buying the baby feeders u could buy like a dollar worth each time
If you want any ideas of tank designs go on google and type in turtle tanks and click on images they have alot of nice ones
Good luck with ur turtle

I wouldn't. Most turtles eat fish. Unless he is big when you put him in there.
My friend has a RES and he dropped some goldfish in the tank. It works better because you don't have to worry about the water conditions for the fish as much. Oscars are touchy about water so if it's different for the turtle then the fish, the fish will die, but goldfish are tough and will get big enough so the RES can't eat them.

Well..I just have to say to one of the answers posted. Oscars are not mean fish...they are just hungry fish who happen to have a big mouth.
I can't see an Oscar even thinking bout going after a turtle.
The thing I would be worried about is the turtles hurting the Oscar (as said before)..so just like what the others said..If you want to get an Oscar it would be best to find a pretty decent sized one.
Only thing bout Oscars is they are very messy fish.
But they have so much personality to em!

I have a red eared slider and i put about 3-4 goldfish in with him about 3 months ago as his food. I guess he decided to keep them as friends because there still there.
