I have 2 turtles, one is a redeared slider and the other is different..I found both of them at a lake by my home. I have noticed lately that one of the turtles is getting in the others face and waving his claws at her. I read online this is a mating thing that they do. Is it possible for them to mate in my aquarium? also is it possible for them to mate when they are different types?

I have a nice set-up for a dollar coin sized red slider turtle in a heated and well lit tank. My daughter got a crawdad from school and has it in a small, dank bowl. Can I put it in the tank to improve it's quality of life or will one hurt (or eat) the other?

I have 2 crested geckos, 1 leopard gecko, 1 jacksons chameleon, and 2 ball pythons, for the time being. I would like to add another reptile to my increasing collection. you can see by what i have that i do not like anything extremely large, but am not against big stuff, and definately am ruling out turtles/tortoises i just have never liked them. I want something that can be held. any ideas?

I have a 1.5 year old Hermann's Tortoise. She used to be a vigorous eater, but for the past few months she has not been interested in eating at all. I live in Alabama, so the winter isn't terribly cold here, and I keep a heat lamp on one end of her terrarium (50 gallon). Is this normal hiberation, or is she too cold? I know adults hiberate for 4-5 months, but I am concerned because she is so young. Also, when I got her, she didn't have all the scales on her legs. She doesn't look to be improving there - should she be growing scales? How long should it take to grow them, and do I need to do anything special to get her healthy that way? When she was eating, I put calcium on her food, and she has a UVB lamp. Any ideas on if her behavior is normal - when can I expect her to eat again and grow scales? Thanks for the help.

I have no idea how to raise a turtle. I felt bad for it on da streets of Chinatown so I bought it. Now, I need help. Can they breathe underwater? I tried giving them floating turtle gammarus pellets given to me by the turtle's seller and I just want to make sure I'm doing a good job so far. I keep it in a small tank the living room so the water is at room temperature. Also, how much water should I fill the tank with? Just so you know, it's a freshwater turtle. It's pretty small, like a baby turtle...

I have emperor scorpions and when they are under blacklight they glow neon green rather than their normal black. I know that when they are black they are absorbing every color of the visible spectrum and nothing is reflected back, but if the blacklight is reflected back than what is the point of using it?

I'm really looking forward to getting one. But all the reptile shops don't have any babies. I'd rather get a baby seeing as how bearded dragons live 10 years. So if you know anything about the breeding cycles please help me out.

I have 5 Iguanas I took them all to the vet and I asked her about one of their toes, they are all pale and shriveled up and he has no toes on his other foot. The vet got side track with all the lizards I brought her she never answered my question. I'm going again in a couple weeks so I'll ask again but I was woundering if they were just dead or could it be gangrene?

I usually feed them small crickets every day, some small mealworms every other day, and a waxworm every so often. The tank temp on the basking side is 90 degrees and the cooler side is 80 degrees. Recently my male has been picking on my female a lot, always has territorial fights and sometimes bites her. Fortunatley i help her wounds heal with some reptile medicine. These two anole live in a 20 gallon with a firebelly and a green tree frog. Also, i give them their vitamins and their calcium.
